CTG has an immediate opening for a Cerner Financial Analyst. This is a one year project, with a very strong potential for extension. Client location is Northern Virginia/DC area.
Performs at an independent level at providing systems analysis with use of informatics skills to support functions throughout the Enterprise Suite of applications
Maintains and designs databases and assists with system design and implementations
Performs a variety of cross-functional information systems analysis and functions on multiple systems
Analyzes and resolves system related problems
Responsible for managing multiple projects including planning and implementation and ongoing development, maintenance and data integrity of clinical and business systems
Understands network operating systems, how those systems are utilized and how they work with the software applications
Understands host-based systems and related interfaces, data exchange, flow, content, testing and troubleshooting and how they are utilized within the context of the network
The Finacial Analyst, Cerner Revenue performs the following essential responsibilities
Plans for Informatics needs. Attends all meetings and ensures that team members understand standard Informatics solutions. Drives the identification of unique study needs e.g., vendor integration, best practices, etc.
Implements standard Informatics solutions and ensures that setup and deployment occur within the necessary timeframes to support timelines. Drives the documentation of and manages timelines, as necessary to ensure timelines are met or deficiencies are communicated.
Assists departments in identifying problems and providing alternative and innovative solutions. Provides assistance during upgrading of manual or automated systems. Develops and/or uses test data in testing pertinent to the installation of programs or updates of software applications. Re-evaluates effectiveness of established system and provides alternatives to increase productivity and to seek further solutions as needed for problem resolution.
Tracks issues and resolutions throughout process while adhering to prescribed escalation procedures. Identifies barriers to project success and communicates effectively to appropriate team members.
Ensures that appropriate Informatics support is provided and members understand how to access support resources. Monitors the types of support requests that are being made. Works to identify and resolve the root cause of issues resulting in frequent support requests. Drives resolution of major Informatics issues affecting assigned programs.
Develops reports, scripts and forms according to required specifications. Participates in the Change Control process and documents appropriately. Evaluates tests and validates system functionality while maintaining database integrity.
Completes assigned tasks per defined project scope, timelines, and budgets for implementations. Works to prescribed methodologies for all project implementations. Ability to work on multiple implementations and/or projects at any given time.

Participation in future application implementations or enhancements under direct supervision.
Positions are dynamic and sometimes required flexible work schedules outside these parameters.
Strong Cerner revenue cycle systems background as well as thorough knowledge and understanding of revenue cycle workflow preferred.
Level of analytical skills and core understanding of Cerner HNA tools preferred.
Full understanding of hospital revenue and charge capture processes preferred.* CDM experience preferred
Graduate of an accredited nursing program or Associates Degree in IS/ Computer Science or a related area (or experience equivalent) required
Three (3) to Five (5) years related experience in financial/technical area required
Applicable current licensure in clinical/financial/technical field preferred.
