The Ceramics Utility position has been created to provide shift support in the areas of quality and productivity improvement. This is a "hands on" position with the following key responsibilities:
Must acquire knowledge of all areas in the Ceramics department, and be willing to move to other job duties within the department as needed.
Ensure that all identification is correct and identify the product per Operating Instructions
Responsible for slurry checks.
Provide the department with product on time.
Be able to operate sensitive equipment in accordance with the Operating Instructions.
Required to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
Provide quality product by following all Operating Instructions, as well as, PES requirements.
Assist and support the 6S program.
Perform other duties as assigned by department manager or supervisor.
Ensure that you follow all Safety requirements for the job duty that you are performing.
Ensure the highest level of housekeeping in the area that you are working in.
High school plus some post-secondary education a plus.
Must possess good interpersonal and communications skills.
Proven track record working in a team environment.
Significant experience in casting manufacturing product processes.
Previous training experience.
INITIATIVE AND INGENUITY:
Moderate initiative and ingenuity required.
Lift/move from 20-50 pounds up to 10 times per hour.
Meeting daily cell/department goals for ESH and Variable Cost.
Effective communication of goals/objectives to all employees.
Maintain a clean & organized work area as you move between job duties within the department.
Must be willing to work daily overtime and weekend overtime as necessary.
Must be able to multi-task job responsibilities and duties daily.
Good working conditions but with ceramics dust in area.
