Ceramic Process Engineering Manager

Job Profile Description: Responsible for managing and coordinating engineering activities related to process and equipment expansion for ceramic materials manufacturing. Leads engineering team and activities to design new processes for materials, modify existing processes for materials, and improve scaled-up production techniques.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects that require designing processes, specifying & installing equipment, and commissioning the manufacturing line.

  • Support the planning and execution of qualifications for equipment, material, manufacturing site, and product.

  • Perform long/short term equipment planning, scheduling, and budgeting.

  • Identify and implement best-known-methods regarding overall manufacturing technologies, capabilities, efficiencies, and practices

  • Create and maintain process documentation, operating instructions, and P&IDs.

  • Develop best practices to maintain and improve the process

  • Works across corporate boundaries and organization structure to solve technical problems.

  • Coordinates activities across working groups for specific projects as appropriate.

  • Collaborates with Commercial, Operations and Technology groups to develop, initialize production, and provide ongoing support for new products in a technical role

  • Investigate and troubleshoot process issues.

  • Ensure that equipment works to its specification and to appropriate capacities

  • Oversee manufacturing processes and effectively utilizes Process Control System tools (i.e. control charts, PCI, OEE, DOE's, etc.) to maintain and improve product and process quality

  • Increase process efficiency by implementing/applying Lean, TOC, Six Sigma or other TQM process improvement methodologies

  • Identify and address safety and environmental concerns at earliest point

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering or Mechanical Engineering

Experience:

  • A minimum of 10 years of engineering experience in a materials manufacturing environment

  • Ceramic carbide and nitride material experience strongly preferred

  • Leadership experience required

  • Experience in specifying and commissioning complex processing equipment

Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Solid communication skills - written, verbal and negotiation; ability to communicate across all organizational levels.

  • Performs detail-oriented tasks utilizing advanced math and language skills

  • Knowledge of statistical tools (control charts, Pareto, fishbone, DOE) and Lean manufacturing techniques

  • Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds

Senior Business Process Manager Acts as vital link between information technology capacity and business objectives by supporting and ensuring the successful completion of analytical, building, testing, and deployment tasks of our Quality System's software product's features to ensure information flows within and to/from the organization in a timely and secure manner. Job Description: * Independently strives to link and improve the Quality System related software and programs through support of the successful completion of analytical, building, testing and deployment tasks of our Quality System's software features ensuring timely and secure information flow within and to and from the organization * Consult with functional unit management and personnel to identify, define and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements, and levels of systems access * Analyze the feasibility of, and develop requirements for, new systems and enhancements to existing systems; ensures the system design fits the needs of the users * Track and fully documents changes for functional and business specifications; writes detailed universally understood procedures for permanent records and for use in training * Identify opportunities for improving business processes through information systems and/or non-system driver changes; assists in the preparation of proposals to develop new systems and/or operational changes * Participate in user acceptance testing and testing of new system functionality * Define reporting and alerting requirements * Own and develops relationships with partners, working with them to optimize and enhance new or revised system integration * Report common sources of technical issues or questions and makes recommendations on solutions to appropriate Information Technology personnel * Create and enforce policies for effective data management * Formulate techniques for quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy and legitimacy of data * Establish rules and procedures for data sharing with upper management, external stakeholders etc. * Support others in the daily use of data systems and ensures adherence to legal and company standards * Assist with reports and data extraction when needed * Potential travel up to 25% Job Requirements: Education/Certification: * Bachelors Degree in applicable field * Master Black Belt Preferred Experience: * Ten (10) years' experience in Business/Systems Analysis and/or Quality Assurance * Proven experience in identifying requirements, developing business cases, and implementing approved solutions * Experience in analyzing data to draw business-relevant conclusions and in data visualization techniques and tools Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: * Excellent understanding of data administration and management functions (collection, analysis, distribution etc.), modern databases and information technologies and in writing SQL queries * Must possess an analytical mindset and have excellent problem-solving skills * Basic knowledge in generating process documentation * Prioritizes conflicting needs; handles matters expeditiously, proactively, and follows-through on projects to successful completion, often with deadline pressures * Exhibits strong interpersonal and organizational skills, great attention to detail as well as excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills * Embraces the opportunity to work with diverse people from different cultures and backgrounds Benefits: * Paid Time Off * Medical, Dental, Vision Benefits * Company-Matched 401K * HSA (Health Savings Account) with Company Contribution * Wellness Reimbursement Program * Voluntary Benefits (Pet Insurance, Legal Insurance, Accident Insurance, Critical Illness Insurance & more) * Performance-Based Bonuses for all Employees * Employee Recognition Programs * Mentorship Program * Community & Volunteer Events & MORE!
