Centrifugation and Cell Counting Representative Sales
Purpose of Position:
We are seeking a Sales Representative based in Northern Maryland and Delaware area to represent Beckman Coulter Life Science Centrifugation and Cell Counting/Particle business. The primary role of this position is to actively promote the company's products and services to a defined customer base in the Maryland region. The successful candidate is expected to implement a sales plan designed to achieve established sales and financial goals; call on prospective and current company customers; involves technical personnel to resolve customer's issues and problems as needed; will participate in the establishment of sales targets and design of the territory's sales plan; and controls sales expenses. Responsible for strategic sales targeting includes all Academic, Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Industrial, etc. accounts.
Annually submit and implement a detailed sales plan identifying: sales objectives, sales opportunities, major customers, and regional shows to be attended during the fiscal year.
Perform all sales activity within an assigned geographic territory.
Participate in sales activities including: customer site visits, telephone contacts, trade seminars and shows, product demonstrations, customer seminars and channel management.
Coordinate distributor training activities to achieve corporate objectives.
Maintain customer activity files.
Submits monthly forecast and maintains timely and accurate funnel details
Assist in maintaining a mail list for customers in the assigned territory.
Collects and reports information on all competitive activity within the assigned territory on company CRM SalesForce.
Other Non-Essential Functions:
Provide key field input in corporate programs including market research, Kaizen events and equipment beta testing.
Monitor and report upon market trends, regulatory drivers and competitive threats
Other duties as assigned.
The work environment for this position is field sales based with home office.
The field sales activity will take this individual into customers' locations and moderate physical activity (e.g. lifting/carrying of materials) occurs.
Overnight travel is required, amount is predicated on home office location and territory activity.
Highly motivated and success driven
Solid understanding of tactical sales skills (prospecting, qualifying, closing, and growing existing customers) strongly preferred
Demonstrated track record of success ideally in a Life Science and/or Academic sales or other Technical/Capital equipment sales area
Bachelor's degree OR Master's degree is required
Science background or degree preferred
Strong communication and presentation skills
Excellent time and territory management habits
Experience with personal computer, e-mail, and Microsoft Office programs
Experience with CRM, SFDC preferred
Experience working with distribution channels
Self-motivated and strong interpersonal skills who is a team player
This position is home office and field based but the candidate MUST live in the territory.
Territory is northern MD and DE.
