The Centralized Telemetry Supervisor serves on the leadership team as a shift supervisor for the designated operation by overseeing all aspects of day-to day patient monitoring operations. Partner closely with colleagues and interdisciplinary team to serve as the qualify telemetry technician, regularly model/mentor and train colleagues on technical skills.

Make decisions regarding daily priorities for the work group, provide guidance to and/or assist staff on non-routine or escalated issues and complete performance appraisals and/or disciplinary actions. This position will report to the Nurse Manager of the telemetry unit WW7.

Experience: REQUIRES 3 to 5 years of related experience.

Education: Associate's degree required.

Licensure Certification: Valid license or certification is required as needed, based on the job or specialty.

Knowledge Skill Abilities: Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines.

Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure. Ability to understand and follow instructions.

Ability to exercise sound and independent judgment. Knowledge and skill in use of job appropriate technology and software applications.

VIEW JOBS 3/27/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-06-25T00:00 Location: Jackson North Medical Center Status: Full Time Shift: Days Telemetry Technician provides advanced ECG monitoring while concentrating on observation of patient status through assessment of ECG strips and arrhythmia interpretation. the Technician recognizes problems through continuous EKG monitoring with accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias and interval measurements; identifies probable causes, and seeks solutions to correct the problem according to established standards. The incumbent also appropriately identifies, responds and communicates to direct patient care givers any potentially life-threatening rhythm changes, initiates codes, records rhythms during code and appropriately responds to all monitor alarms. Experience: Generally requires 1 to 3 years of related experience (strongly preferred). At least six (six) months of experience in identifying cardiac arrhythmias is required. Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Licensure Certification: Telemetry Certification is required. Employees must have completed the basic arrhythmia course and passed the EKG Interpretation and Cardiac Arrhythmia Recognition Examination before hire. The competency test is required for all new hires. Existing JHS employees will be promoted into higher level classification after completed certification. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification with at least 6 months validity required.
