Job Description:

To be fully engaged in providing Quality / No Harm, Customer Experience, and Stewardship by: effectively completing staffing operations, processing personnel data, schedules and management reports for Health First Staffing and customers via computerized systems. Properly placing patients in appropriate bed assignments based on diagnosis and medical needs and by providing superior customer orientated responses to everyone that requires the processing of information requests through the Patient Logistics Department and to properly assign staff according to the Staffing Department guidelines.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Communicates with Administrative staff, floor Directors/Managers/staff, Cath Lab staff, Operating Room (OR) Staff, Emergency Department (ED) staff, physicians, and physicians' office staff regarding patient admissions.

  • Requests orders to be faxed from physician for Case Management to review.

  • Notifies specific patient unit of bed assignment within 30 minutes of original contact.

  • Communicates with Environmental Services (EVS) regarding priority of beds needing cleaned via computer application.

  • Communicates with the Patient Logistics team regarding all transfers.

  • Obtains optimal bed assignment for all patient admissions and transfers to meet patient family needs.

  • Maintains Transfer Center customer satisfaction related to third party transfer agencies and outside customers.

  • Communicates with Case Management for all admissions to ensure they meet Interqual criteria.Utilize ambulance service requests appropriately to maximize reimbursement and avoid charges to MOA.

  • Obtains insurance information on all direct admit and transfer requests and communicates to registration for insurance certification.


  • High school diploma required, some college or medical experience preferred.

  • Computer proficiency required.

  • Bed Control Admissions staffing experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications required.

  • Excellent telephone etiquette, communication and organization skills.

Bad Debt Screening. Charity screening and qualifications. Patient negotiations, settlements, discounts. * TOS Collections to include co-pays, deductibles, and coinsurance. * TOS Collections " multiple options " prompt pay discount, payroll deduction, waiver of assignment of benefits. * Price estimates and quotes. * Reviews and processes patient and insurance mail in an accurate and timely manner,making sure actions or outcomes are documented on patient accounts. * Performs tasks associated with Revenue Cycle i.e., billing, primary and secondary claim submission, scanning, etc. * High School diploma or equivalent. * Excellent communications/interpersonal skills. * Typing 45 WPM. * Medical Terminology desired. * Previous office experience preferred. * Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs preferred. * Demonstrates ability to relate well to all customers. * Demonstrates good oral and written communication skills. * Ability to prioritize and organize to maximize quality, value and service. * Working knowledge of managed care payors and Medicare regulations. * Experience working in multiple systems: STAR, MedPay, SCI, TRACE, OF, DDE, Multiple payor websites, etc Health First Rockledge FL
