Reports to designated division Director and is responsible for managing, coordinating and directing safe and efficient workflow and functions of designated service personnel to facilitate patient safety, quality and timely services based on approved protocols and policies for telephone triage processes. Holds overall responsibility for designated service operations with 24-hour accountability.
Delegates, supervises personnel, operationalizes, solves problems, makes decisions and develops systems and processes for successful integration and implementation. Independently carries out and is accountable for daily operations and other negotiated/assigned activities. Works in close cooperation with and under the clinical guidance of the Medical Director and practice physician(s). Seeks guidance from the Director and/or upper management for unusual or unanticipated circumstances that require deviation from financial/operational policies and standards of practice.
Demonstrates excellence in nursing practice characterized by quality patient care and participation in formal and informal patient and staff education. Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience, Education and Training Minimum: Current Virginia state license as a Registered Nurse or Registered Nurse holding a valid Compact State license required.
Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field preferred with 3-5 years healthcare/management experience required. Pediatric experience preferred. Possesses excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills with the ability to plan, supervise establish and maintain a professional work environment.
Strong assessment and critical thinking skills required. Ability to identify problems and implement solutions for operational and organizational functions. Interpersonal skills necessary to direct subordinates and delegate tasks.
Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice. Knowledge of telephone-based clinical assessment techniques and telephone triage protocols. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EPIC software.
Technical and professional knowledge unique to the business and/or clinical operations of the designated services (Nursing, Financial, Human Resource, Information Systems, Risk, Governance, Regulations, Planning and Marketing). CPR training required or obtained within 90 days of hire. Private home office with adequate cable modem/broadband access required. Ability to work flexible shifts.
