As a Central Sterilization Tech, you work behind-the-scenes, but you are a crucial part of our healthcare team. Reducing infections and supporting healthier outcomes for our patients is vital. Washing, flushing, drying then sterilizing every screw, hinge, tube, and crevice and then reassembling, patient safety and surgical effectiveness are all about the details. You give that little something extra that makes you extraordinary. That's what we love about you.

Your Everyday

Verify all equipment is processed for the next day's surgery schedule.

Operate sterilization equipment and process instruments: clean, sterilize, package and store properly, as well as prepare sterilization logs.

Prepare instrument trays and supplies for steam and sterilization using appropriate techniques for loading/unloading, operating, and daily graph/tape changes.

Ensure compliance with hospital established policies, quality assurance, safety and infection control policies and practices and JACHO

Maintain records of all sterilizers.

Assess appropriate equipment and instruments needed for all departments.

Ensure all supplies are available for the surgeon, all items are in working condition.

Replace or repair instruments or equipment that is not working

Coordinate and manage the process for loaner equipment and instruments from vendors and other institutions.

The Must-Haves

Minimum:

2 years of Sterile Processing experience

High School Diploma / GED or equivalent

Preferred:

Certified Registered Central Service Technician from Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA)
