POSITION JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Central Services Receptionist
REPORTS TO: Office of the Superintendent
LEVEL: Special Payroll
Salary: Commensurate with Experience
Summary of the Position
The Central Services Receptionist will work directly with the Office of the Superintendent to greet all internal and external visitors. He/ She will assist with district events, publication layouts, proof reading, ordering materials and supplies. The ideal candidate must exercise considerable initiative, independent judgment, and discretion in the performance of duties and current knowledge of school or district policies, rules, and practices. Work of this class is distinguished by the degree of confidentiality and discretion required in daily work situations. Work assignments are received from the Office of the Superintendent and are performed independently.
Required Experience or Training
Considerable knowledge of the operation of standard office equipment, pc computers, copiers, faxes, etc.
Must be familiar with Windows (Microsoft), Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator.
Ability to work independently on confidential administrative assignments and secretarial tasks.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, students, parents, press, business community members.
Desired Experience or Training
High School diploma.
Associates degree required; Bachelor's degree recommended.
Extensive knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, and mathematics.
Knowledge of the principles and best practices of customer service.
Strong interpersonal communication.
Special Requirements of the Position
Availability to work a flexible schedule for additional compensation based on the needs of the district

Essential Job Function:
Greet and assist all visitors, in a friendly and efficient manner, leaving a positive first impression.
Answer all inbound calls and provide accurate service information and redirect calls to appropriate department.
Provide a high level of customer service to students, parents, and visitors
Effectively work with internal and external stakeholders via emails, phone, or face to face.
Effectively listen to student, parent, and visitor queries patiently and work diligently toward solving problems. If unable to resolve problems forward the concern to the appropriate administrator.
Respond to the problems of students, parents, and communities promptly.
Work collaboratively with the Community Outreach and Public Relations Coordinator to obtain school highlights for publications and District Calendar.
Draft documents, letter or statements, as directed by the supervisor.
Develop and maintain accurate records.
Proofread and transcribe memos and letters.
Maintain appointment schedules; makes travel arrangements, conference registration and reservations at the direction of the Office of the Superintendent.
Process requisitions, order supplies, file documents etc.
Researches topics as directed by the Office of the Superintendent.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
