Central Scheduler, is responsible for accurately performing the pre-access functions for scheduled patients, which includes scheduling outpatient diagnostic procedures and completing the pre-registration and insurance verification processes.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Accurately schedules patients in accordance with guidelines in the scheduling application for assigned outpatient procedures and in accordance with ancillary department specifications, including but not limited to adding and deleting procedures and rescheduling appointments.

• Obtains and processes physicians' orders(i.e., calls to obtain orders, scans orders into the Document Imaging application, reminds patients to bring orders, etc.

• Guides the physician, physician office staff, and/or the patient through the scheduling process.

• Collaborates with other areas to coordinate resource coverage as needed

• Collaborates with physician and/or office staff and the ancillary and scheduling departments to assess the needs of the patient to effectively manage the patient's pre-registration experience

Qualifications

Requirements:

• High School graduate or equivalent.

• Minimum of one (1) year experience as surgery scheduler.
