Position summary:
Reporting to the Director of Wholesale Sales, the Central Regional Sales Manager (RSM) will support the accomplishment of corporate objectives by planning, directing and coordinating the activities of the sales of Company products into the wholesale segment in the U.S. The RSM will develop region-specific sales and marketing strategic and processes and expand existing sales to targeted market potential. This key position will lead all aspects of the Central region, which consists of the following states: TX, OK, KS, MO, AR, NE, IA, WI, MN, ND, SD.
Principal functional responsibilities:
Increases sales and profit through direct selling of established customers, developing new customers, prospects, strategy, marketing objectives, priorities, programs, proposals, and presentations
Has direct account responsibility and works with independent agents as established by company
Recommends new business strategies to continuously strengthen competitive edge in markets
Prepares reports, statements, and statistical data necessary by conducting preliminary studies and investigations
Acts as liaison cross-functionally, in efforts to resolve customer matters
Assures effective operations by coordinating sales and service activities with engineering, manufacturing, inventory, and shipping
Attends and performs vital duties at industry trade shows, seminars, and organization meetings as necessary
Responsible for monthly forecast for segments
Travel - 50+% within assigned region
Performs other related duties as needed and assigned
Essential qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or related degree
Minimum 5 years' of experience demonstrating proven success in growing sales and closing deals within the wholesale industry
Experience in managing independent agents and teams
Preferred qualifications:
Minimum 8 years of related experience in wholesale distribution in the construction or plumbing industry preferred
Proficiencies:
Knowledge of budgeting, financial analysis, and cost control practices
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and demonstrated successful ability to build positive partnerships, while working collaboratively with cross-functional business teams
Proven successful ability to organize and prioritize work to ensure timely deadlines
Proficient computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite
