The Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and driven Central Lab Team Leader to plan, coordinate, and direct our testing program, ensuring our company's compliance with lab standards. In the absence of the Quality Director, Quality Manager, and Laboratory Manager, the Quality Team Leader will be responsible for Food Safety. This full time position will report to the Laboratory Manager and duties include but are not limited to;

• Track and review lab performance and data to ensure consistency with policies and standards.

• Develop new approaches to address issues identified during lab activities.

• Direct and audit team members to ensure continuous control over materials, products, and adherence to SOP.

• Oversee lab technician schedules, payroll, and leave management.

• Maintain good laboratory practices, enforce safety, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.

• Maintain and troubleshoot all analytical equipment in laboratories.

• Ensure both technical and safety training for all team members.

• Proactively support customer needs, meet or exceed all key metrics, and continually update knowledge of products and services.

The Skills you will bring to the team

• Associates degree preferred/or a minimum of three years practical bench experience in product development or ingredient application either in an industrial, university, or research setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Demonstrable experience with laboratory techniques for the measurement of chemical components, microbiological parameters, and sensory attributes.

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

• Practical experience in QA techniques, principles, and adherence to government regulations.

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

• Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and delegate assignments to others.

• Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.

• Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.

• Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
