Job Description

The Direct Bill Customer Service Team Leader will guide the associates in providing quality customer service to our Direct Bill Collection clients. The department is responsible for resolving customer inquiries, investigating billing disputes, producing invoicing/other billing support, and processing AR payments via credit card. Essential duties and responsibilities, shown below, will vary accordingly based on all assignments.

What you'll do:

  • Oversees the daily productivity of the team to ensure timely resolutions.

  • Enforces policies and procedures related to work performed by team.

  • Monitors quality of work performed to assure agent knowledge and accuracy of completed work.

  • Ensuring associates are trained efficiently and guarantee duties are performed in a manner consistent with company values and standards.

  • Handles escalated and/or "sensitive" complaints, issues, and inquiries, and composes original correspondence to commercial customers when necessary.

  • Drafts and distributes periodical productivity reports based on supervisor/manager instruction.

  • Acts as liaison with all levels of Management, Outsourcers and Field personnel.

  • Responsible for maintaining a professional and courteous relationship with internal and external customers.

  • Works in collaboration with Billing and Collection teams in resolving disputes to improve overall AR.

  • Provides billing and payment support for special requests and projects from senior management.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Assist supervisor in interviewing prospective employees, provide feedback regarding best applicant review based on skills, knowledge, and abilities required for the job.

  • Assess staff performance and quality to ensure productivity meets SLA requirements.

  • Contributes with annual performance appraisals with supervisor/manager for direct reports.

  • Provides individual feedback to improve performance.

  • Identifies, evaluates, and delivers corrective action in response to personnel challenges.

What we are looking for:

  • Minimum of 1-2 year experience in finance, billing and/or accounting function.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related accounting/financial software.

  • Extensive knowledge of financial and accounting calculations, reporting, and forecasting methodologies.

  • Basic understanding of collection practices and laws.

  • Excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills.

  • Ability to act with discretion, tact, and professionalism in all situations.

  • Maintain accurate records and produce detailed reports.

  • Requires excellent analytical ability and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work both independently and in team-based setting.
