Under the direction of the VP of Community Engagement, the Manager of the Center for Community Engagement (CCE) is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department.
Sid Jacobson JCC's Center for Community Engagement (CCE) is Long Island's hub that addresses relevant issues in today's world, uses social action to better our society, and provides volunteers with the opportunity to give back. CCE serves as a resource and educational portal, and is a connection point for all who wish to engage and help individuals and communities in need.The 3 pillars of CCE include:The Community Needs Bank, Social Responsibility and Volunteerism.
Job Responsibilities:
The Manager will oversee 3 pillars of CCE (The Community Needs Bank, Social Responsibility and Volunteerism) in strategic engagement to maximize social impact
Manage professional staff and volunteersto support them in completing tasks
Management of Community Needs Bank (CNB)
Create CNB short term and long term goals
Ensure regulatory compliance (safety and health guidelines)
Coordinate events and programs, including drives,to educate community about food insecurity and CNB mission
Oversee Island Harvest Redistribution Organization commitment and responsibilities
Manage CNB budget
Research grant opportunities and manage existing grants
Managing professional staff and volunteers to support them in completing tasks
Coordinate events and programs toward strong interfaith and community-based partnerships.
Expand Sid Jacobson JCC's mission as community convener,
Manage Social Responsibility budget
Research grant opportunities and manage existing Social Responsibility grants

Job Expectations:
This role is full-time, in person, Monday to Friday, with occasional Sundays and evenings for meetings, programs or activities. Salary is $60,000-$80,000 commensurate with experience. This is a full-time position reporting to the VP of Community Engagement.

The ideal candidate is an effective community organizer with experience convening groups toward mission-based work.
Candidates should possess the following qualities and experience:
At least 3-5 years working in the capacity of a community organizer
Warm and welcoming personality, relating well to people of all ages
Flexibility when needed - Calm under pressure, customer service-oriented,
Ability to hold the big picture in mind as well as tend to the small details
Experience in navigating the issues, language and dynamics of bias and needs of vulnerable populations, including food insecurity
Ability to assess and strategize appropriate programming across all ages
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Highly-organized with attention to detail and follow-through, and the ability to multitask
Experience with budget development and administration desired
Fluency with Microsoft Office and Excel
Comfort using social media to market programs
Bachelor's Degree
Salary:
$65,000 - $75,000
