Position Summary

This position is responsible for the day to day operation of the New Caney Cement Terminal in Texas. Primary responsibilities include; shipments and unloading cement trains, along with recording and sending reports of daily activities. Operator must perform all duties in a safety conscious manner and in compliance with all applicable environmental laws and policies. The position reports to the Terminal Supervisor.


  • Inspect all machinery and equipment for defects daily

  • Use dollies, hoist, and winches

  • Operate rail car mover and bobcat/ skid steer to move materials throughout the terminal

  • Maintain all mobile equipment in proper operating condition, including checks on tire inflation, brakes, waters, and oil pressure

  • Perform cleanup work in assigned areas

  • Operate moving equipment to spot and unload cement and/or Cementous railcars.

  • Operate weight devices as Weight Master

  • Load and weigh bulk cement and fly ash trucks

  • Maintain bill-of-lading, certifications, and all other paperwork associated with loading and receiving cement

  • Perform other assigned work incidental to this classification

  • Perform inventory

Minimum Education & Experience

  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proper Personal Protective Equipment as required

  • Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in the English language

  • Knowledge of hazards associated with areas of responsibility

  • Operate Bobcat and Railcar Mover

  • Use air, electrical, and hand tools such as chipping guns, jackhammers, wrenches, grinders, and drills of all sizes

  • Report inventory numbers accurately

  • Knowledge of Office software and it's function

Physical Requirements

  • Work occasionally in confined spaces with low clearance requiring bending or kneeling

  • Must be able to lift weights of up to 50 pounds

  • Climb ladders and stairs to elevations of 10 to 120 feet

  • Must be able to work at heights exceeding 100 feet

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to walk long distances, climb ladders, stairs, and stockpiles, stoop, crawl under and into enclosed spaces

  • Ability to see and hear safety indicators and warnings

  • Must work in all weather conditions: heat, cold, wet, dry and/or dusty conditions

  • Will have exposure to all levels of noise that require use of hearing protection

Ships and receives product and supplies, sorts, distributes and handles incoming and outgoing mail/faxes, as well as applies necessary postage. Provides copier maintenance and first call response for customer site equipment. May also perform one of the following at entry level: bindery, Quality Control and final check, housekeeping, file services, call center representative, etc. This position reports directly to the Site Manager, Site Supervisor or Assistant Site Manager, depending on site personnel configuration. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Operate MS Office and Email systems * Perform basic scanning responsibilities * Ensures convenience copiers are working properly, checking for quality via daily inspections. Clears paper jams and informs technicians of specific problems. * Maintains records for management reports and inventories of supplies needed. * Distributes office supplies, fax transmissions and mail to company personnel and/or designated drop-off points as required. * Performs furniture/conference room set up * Performs Fulfillment functions * Calculates charges for jobs performed and maintains logs. * Responds to and coordinates all service calls required by customer. * May perform filing duties in conjunction with specific customer requests. * Delivers completed jobs to pre-determined customer locations within and outside of the site. * Maintains daily meter and service logs. * May travel between customer's buildings. * Answers customer questions regarding status or feasibility of job requests. * Ensures upkeep of convenience copier areas by keeping neat and well stocked. * Performs duties related to the shipping and/or receiving of materials in a mailroom type environment * Uses shrink-wrap machine, paper cutter, hole driller, bindery equipment, jogger, tape machine, stackers, electric stapler and scales in completion of various jobs contracted. * Uses all copier equipment, calculator, fax machine, postage meter and some PC. * Performs filing duties, which may include 'purging' and archiving old documents. * Understanding of Ricoh Services Portfolio & Technology * Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, and Certifications) Typically Required: * Requires high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience. * Some related copy job experience is preferred. * May require a valid driver's license and minimum levels of auto insurance coverage per Ricoh policy. * Demonstrated competency in basic computer skills including proficiency in MS Office Suite.
