ABOUT THE ROLE
Directly supervises the daily activities of the Laborers & Day Heavy Equipment Operators by ensuring employees are held accountable for their work standards and performance.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Responsible for the performance of the Laborers and Day Heavy Equipment Operators
Set proper expectations for assigned personnel and hold accountable to those expectations.
Conduct weekly reviews with HR Manager for all new, probationary employees.
Conduct daily start of shift meetings with assigned employees
Conduct daily workplace audits in the area where assigned employees are working. Ensure workplace examinations, field risk assessments, mobile equipment inspection, etc are being accurately completed and in a timely manner
Coordinate tasks with Production and Shipping Coordinators, and other departments
Accountable for the on-boarding and task training of all assigned new employees
Responsible and accountable for plant grounds maintenance including landscaping and snow removal services
Utilization of Laborers to maintain housekeeping within the Ravena plant
Work in accordance to Collective Bargaining Agreement
Management of all aspects of scheduling and timekeeping for assigned employees including but not limited to absenteeism tracking, overtime equalization, overtime management
Ensure all assigned mobile equipment is properly inspected and properly operated
Identified and document all areas where chronic spills or repetitive cleaning is occurring
Fill in as a back-up for Production Coordinator or Shipping Coordinator during absences
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor's degree
Required Work Experience: 3 years of supervisory experience
Additional Requirements:
Must have leadership capabilities
The employee will frequently be required to walk on rocky, irregular surfaces that may be muddy and in reduced lighting conditions.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 90 pounds.
Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
