What you'll be doing...

Our people are our most valuable assets, but our equipment is pretty important too. As a Cell Technician, you'll be keeping our facilities and equipment in top form by maintaining several locations in your assigned area. You'll be doing regular maintenance, keeping inventories, doing audits, and creating reports. You'll also be analyzing our network coverage and finding ways to make it even better.

  • Performing installation, optimization and maintenance of base station equipment and transmitters.

  • Conducting building and grounds inspections and maintenance.

  • Maintaining site and test equipment inventories.

  • Analyzing network coverage to find gaps, making recommendations to improve coverage, and helping to implement those recommendations.

  • Integrating network hardware and interconnect facilities.

  • Updating daily logs with site-specific information and generating reports.

  • Performing audits when required by various departments or regulators.

What we're looking for...

You're tech savvy, and well-versed in all things telecommunications. Working independently suits you well. You're also thorough, vigilant, and on top of the detailssomeone people count on to solve problems and to make sure they don't happen in the first place.

You'll need to have:

  • Associate's degree or two or more years of work experience.

  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.

  • Valid driver's license.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.

  • Electronics training in telecommunications, two-way radio, paging, or microwave radio.

  • Training in data communications, digital communications, operating systems and applications, computer support, project management, or power.

  • Voice cells infrastructure experience, such as Lucent, Motorola, Ericsson, LTE, or CDMA data.

  • Telecom experience such as T1, DACS, or OMP.

  • Computer support experience, including troubleshooting PC hardware and configurations.

  • Power experience such as Galaxy, Lorain, or DC distribution systems.

  • Experience troubleshooting antenna systems from transmitter to antenna.

  • Expertise in PIM/VSWR/MIMO/RET including knowledge of fiber and LTE remote radio heads.

The Installation Coordinatorowns the management of installations by focusing on backlog management usingthe Tyco Installation Portal (TIP). It is the responsibility of theInstallation Coordinator to make sure that the customer's expectations areclearly represented in the documentation provided and subsequently reflected inthe Installation Coordination System. The Installation Coordinator willwork closely with the Field Organization to ensure on-time installationdelivery and customer satisfaction. The Programmer will providespecialized technical support by performing upload and download relatedfunctions for specific National Accounts. The position utilizes knowledgeof low end, high end panels and special programming projects. The positionrequires high degree of technical ability to research and resolve issues onDMP, Radionics, Focus, Safewatch, Vista and DSC panels, including specialprogramming projects. This role will reportdirectly to the Manager, Program Services. The Installation Coordinator willalso have additional responsibilities working in a cross functional environmentsupporting select National Account customers (Top 50 Accounts) within the WorkCell Design Team that include duties within Order Validation and Billing roles. How you will do it: Primary Job Duties * Usingthe installation management tools, provide clear and accurate communication * Ensurethat all new installations booked through the National Account Support Centerare clearly represented in the backlog. * Complywith all requirements for information including, but not limited to, variousinstallation milestones, estimated closed date, customer due date, and permitinformation. * Regularlyreview the installation backlog of assigned customer(s). * Maintainregular contact with respective National Account Manager, assigned customer,and the Field Organization. * Whenrequested by the National Account Manager, participate in conference calls asrequired. * Ensuregeneral information and project status is documented * Maintainall customer driven changes within TIP. * Provideweekly customer reports. * EnsureTIP record is updated immediately with records of all communication betweenInstallation Coordinator and all internal and external customers. * Actas the conduit between Field Organization, National AccountManager, Customer, and Project Management Group to resolve installationissues. * Takeinbound phone calls from technicians requesting uploads and downloads,programming information into new or existing accounts in response to technicianrequest or by scope of work * Generatesfield service work order requests when unable to establish remote DLL session * Completesdata entry into programming if required when completing a download * Resolvestechnical issues through research and investigation and responds back toappropriate parties via phone * Performsand issues confirmations when panel download has been completed * Allother duties as assigned Secondary Job Duties * Crosstrained to support other job functions within the Work Cell Design group: o Billing - approves andenters data associated with preparing receivable invoices for an assigned queueof customers in a fast pace office environment. The role will assist internaland external customers regarding billing inquiries while ensuring accuracy,accountability, and timeliness to the customer. o Order Validation - The Order Validatorwill audit contracts for compliance, accurately enter, modify and review newaccount information submitted by the Johnson Controls Sales Team for theSecurity Domain by working in Compass, ADMIN, Informix and Master Mind computersystems.
