Has No Driver-Controllable DOT Inspection Violations
Has No Driver- Controllable CSA Violations

Total Transportation will pay you an EXTRA 10
for EVERY MILE you ran that month!!
An experienced team with hazmat & doubles can easily earn 61 per mile!

For example, Mutt & Jeff have 1 year of experience, their hazmat endorsement, and ran 21,500 miles last month. At 47 per mile, they earned $10,105, which isn't chump change.

But because they ran safe & met the criteria above, they earned an additional $2,150. Mutt & Jeff earned $12,255 last month.

Overview * This is a knowledge based position that requires good communication skills, good record keeping capability and can-do attitude. * The ability to take direction to work independently and effectively; to inspect newly purchased vehicles, diagnose/repair vehicles that are returned from the field and work with the Fleet Manager and/or Coordinator to perform preventive maintenance on vehicles. * Have a wide experience with various makes and models of vehicles and equipment, such as Ford, Chevrolet, Nissan, and others. * The ability to disassembles and overhauls motors, transmissions, clutches, rear ends, electrical systems and all other assemblies. * This Position also requires a number of physical movements, including lifting, bending, manipulating and handling objects. * This is a full time, permanent position. Must be open to overtime and weekends for business needs. Qualifications * High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) * Valid drivers license * Mechanics Certification & minimum of 4 years related experience * Ability to lift /carry up to 50 pounds safely * Able to supply own set of tools (negotiable) * Pass the drug and background check * Heavy equipment and/or welding experience a plus General Responsibilities * Maintain an accurate, up-to-date list of available vehicles and prioritize maintenance schedule based on same criteria. * Perform diagnostics, scheduled preventative maintenance, and repairs on vehicles including but not limited to; trucks (light and heavy), vans, misc. machinery, forklifts, box, tow, bucket trucks, and aerial lift equipment. * Perform operation test prior to repairs to verify complaint. * Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repairs to manufacturers specifications including engines, transmissions, clutches, suspension, steering, fuel and ignition (gas and diesel), electrical systems, brakes, Etc. * Maintain vehicle records as required including completion of check list/pre-trip inspection * Install GPS units vehicles that require monitoring. * Apply truck letters/signage as needed including DOT specification signage. * Visually and physically inspect, maintain, repair and structural integrity of aerial lift equipment to maintain the safety and reliability of the unit and report any deficiencies so that they may be corrected. * Perform preventive maintenance and repairs to aerial devices in accordance with manufacturer's and ANSI guidelines and in a timely manner to maximize the life and productivity of the equipment. * Maintain and repair fleet equipment as needed. * Mechanical knowledge of gas and diesel repair. * Work with computer instrumentation (for example, desktop/laptop computers, hand-held tablets, perform diagnostics with computers, or conduct preventative maintenance and execute work orders). * Work with manufacturing standards (for example, knowing current standards, staying up-to-date with the latest technology, or having experience working with electronics, etc.) * Order and inventory parts. In addition, conduct analysis between vendors to determine best pricing & volume discounts. * Adhere to OSHA, DOT and EPA regulatory compliance standards. * Operate in a safe, well organized, and clean work environment (must be able to tolerate hot and cold temperatures depending on the season).
