CDL Instructor

General Description

Classroom and hands-on instruction of Class A & B CDL students.

Primary Job Duties:

Teaching hours take place from 8am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

Instructors will train students in classroom and on yard maneuvers and road driving per the ELD-T guidelines and OAC regulations for both class A and B students.

Monitor student progress, identify any gaps in skills and provide additional assistance as necessary to aid in student success.

Maintain proper documentation, including daily attendance, tracking, evaluations, etc.

Emphasize safety concepts, principles and procedures.

Other Job Duties:

Keep vehicles clean and fueled.

Report any mechanical issues to the shop

Work with other instructors to aid in students' success

Maintain clean and safe working environment

Stay up to date on changes in training and testing

Qualifications

Must be at least 25 years of age.

Must have a valid CDL Class A license with a minimum of 36 months verifiable driving experience.

Clean Driving record for the past 5 years (less than 4 pts.).

Qualifications (Continued)

Must be able to pass the motor vehicle background check and state criminal background check

Must be able to pass a DOT Drug Test and physical.

Must be physically able to operate a commercial motor vehicle.

Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.

Must have basic computer capabilities and know how to navigate a web browser.

Must be able to be actively moving around for 8 hours.

High School Diploma or GED required.
