Responsibilities
Summary:
The Shipping / Warehouse Forklift Operator / CDL Driver works under the direction of the Logistics Manager and Warehouse Supervisor or Lead and is responsible for safely transporting finished goods and supplies to and from facilities in a designated area, as well as ensuring all associated documentation is accurately filled out and properly submitted.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Follow all Company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
Move product from staging area to designated areas within the warehouse
Safely drive forklifts, turret trucks, and yard switcher or tractor as required
Maintain row tags for material staged on the floor
Must be able to work overtime when required
Operate forklift to move finished goods to an appropriate area of the warehouse
Inspects all pallets for accuracy
Stacking configuration
Maintains proper housekeeping while performing duties
Perform daily safety check before using forklift
Performs inventory control activities, verifies product fits on loads, verifies accuracy of pick/pack and staged orders
Performs warehouse consolidation efforts, warehouse walk through and reporting of all discrepancies to leadership
Drive and maintain the supplied tractor, which is utilized for all movement of drop trailers from our drop yard to our dock doors and from our manufacturing facility to our distribution center
Maintain and ensure PM services are supplied to tractor concerning all scheduled maintenance and record keeping through Company contracted maintenance provider
Responsible for working safely, following all plant safety rules and policies as well as reporting any unsafe conditions they encounter. Wears correct safety attire and utilizes proper safety equipment as directed
Responsible for accuracy and completeness of all shipping documents while physically loading pallets for customer orders and transfers
Responsible for verifying count and labels and then removing finished goods from the staging area and physically moving finished goods to the proper bin locations
Performs other assignments, general and specific, as directed by supervision
Safety Commitment:

Qualifications
Qualifications & Requirements:
Requires and understanding of methods for shipping/loading requirements and each customer's special instructions
Must be willing and capable to work an 8 or 12 hour shift schedule, which could include weekdays, weekends, day and/or night shifts
Must be detail oriented
Ability to do functional math (add, subtract, multiply and divide)
Required to maintain all requirements needed for CDL certifications
Essential Physical Requirements:
Talk to effectively communicate with others
Hearing to communicate with others and respond to manufacturing and PIT equipment sounds
Manual dexterity required with exposure to arm, wrist and back fatigue
The employee in this job is required to exert 50 pounds of force occasionally (less than 1/3 of time); and up to 35 pounds of force frequently (more than 1/3 of the total time); if over 50 lbs., requires a team lift or mechanical aid such as a roll lift, turret truck or forklift
Must be able to stand approximately 2 hours and routinely walk the warehouse
Must be able to bend, twist, and rotate body at all times
Reaching with hands and arms for as much as 100% of workday
Use arms to grasp, handle, grip, and type
Walking to operate production machines and to package and palletize finished product
Must be able to step up 1 ½ feet and pull themselves into the seat of a forklift
Must have computer skills, including Microsoft Office and preferably JD Edwards
