CDL Driver

CDL Truck Driver (John Deere Dealership)

Purpose :

Safely and efficiently operates company owned vehicles to transport or move equipment for the dealership's operations. Provides excellent customer service and effectively communicates with customers and dealership personnel.

Performance Expectations:

• Safely and efficiently transports equipment to and from customers and/or dealership facilities

• Supports the sales department with equipment delivery as needed

• Maintains records of pickup and deliveries and obtains necessary signatures and receipts

• Accounts for all time and for all distance traveled in performing assigned duties

• Promotes customer loyalty and goodwill and protects dealerships image

• Maintains all vehicles in proper working condition and maintains maintenance logs and daily checklists

• Maintains all state, federal, OSHA and dealership required fuel & driver logs and certifications, if required

• Maintains knowledge of all current NYS & Federal DOT regulations

• Maintains the appearance of all delivery equipment including all trucks, trailers and equipment

• Immediately informs Branch Service Manager of any potential safety concern regarding delivery vehicles

• Maintains operating knowledge of all dealership owned, retail and customer service equipment

• Instructs customers on basic equipment operating procedures as necessary

• Follows all NYS driving rules and requirements

Experience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge:

• High School diploma or equivalent experience

• 2 years of CDL driving experience; heavy equipment experience preferred

• Maintains a valid and clean NYS license

• Ability to lift items weighing upwards of 75 lbs. repeatedly

• Good understanding of how to load shipments and equipment

• Ability to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays

• Neat and clean personal appearance (in accordance with company policy)

• Exhibits necessary skills to effectively work in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office, email and internet functions

• Exhibits strong desire to expand personal development

• Exhibits a willingness to accept additional assignments

• Ability to work within and promote a strong team environment across all departments

• Achieves and maintains forklift certification

• Ability to travel for customer service and training as needed

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
