Position Snapshot

Environmental Technicians identify, collect, transport, process, package and prepare hazardous and universal wastes, recyclables and solid waste for storage and disposal. You'll play an integral role in supporting the Project Manager onsite.

Day in the Life

After grabbing your favorite morning beverage, you can expect to:

  • Suit up in your PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

  • Conduct inspections onsite and share your findings with the Project Manager.

  • Collect, load and containerize materials, and prepare them for storage or shipment.

  • Operate a forklift (or similar equipment) to load, unload and move materials.

  • Check on waste containers throughout the facility (you'll notify your Project Manager when containers are full, or if shipments are required).

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you need to apply

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Preferred Certifications: 40 Hour HAZWOPER, 8 Hour HAZWOPER, DOT, RCRA

  • Relevant experience in the environmental industry preferred

  • Moderate computer skills (Microsoft Suite)

  • Valid driver's license

  • Forklift certification/license preferred

  • Ability to pass pre-employment background checks and drug screening

  • Comfort wearing a respirator if needed.

Direct equipment rig up and rig down independently, operate equipment associated with pumping processes including treatment procedures Will be called upon to supervise and direct crew members during jobs. Monitor and document all phases of the CT service process. Submits necessary paperwork upon completion of the job. Maintain general housekeeping, clean up, repair and preparation of equipment. Work with other crew members. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Capable of maintaining accurate driver logs. Able to spend extended amounts of time away from home. Able to spend long hours walking, standing, stooping and lifting. Able to work well with others in a diverse team work environment. Pass the company's "Physical Functions Assessment" Required Experience and Education High School Diploma or Equivalent 24 Months of Experience Required Learn CT standards, safe work practices and procedures.
