Job Summary

Tri-State Trucking is looking for a Class A, equipment-friendly driver based out of our Fairfield, OH office. The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of a variety of commercial trucks and equipment, be able to perform some basic maintenance, and be willing and able to learn and grow with us.

Duties for this position include:

  • Safe and efficient navigation to and from customer locations
  • Loading/unloading construction/industrial equipment
  • Excellent customer interactions
  • Monitoring, diagnosing, and performing basic truck maintenance
  • Extra hours and on call assignments available
  • Paperwork, inspections, duties required as a normal CDL A driver

Those applying for the position should have a clean driving record and valid Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL), allowing them to drive commercial trucks over 26,001 lbs.

JOB SUMMARY Safely/professionally transport loads. Oversee move process & build/direct a balanced load utilizing best judgment. Ensure the operation of vehicles is safe in all conditions. Maintain public safety/meet Graebel standards for motor vehicle records & submission to the Safety/Operations departments. RESPONSIBILITIES * Operate 100, 200 series vehicles as needed. Categories listed below: 100 series vehicles ( i.e. pick up trucks, utility vans, cube trucks, small and medium straight cargo trucks) with a gross weight rating of up to 7,000 lbs. 200 series vehicles (i.e. medium and large straight trucks which may be equipped with air brake systems) with a gross vehicle weight rating of up to 10,000 lbs. * Meets Federal Carrier Safety Regulations and Graebel Companies Safety and Driver standards as it applies to branch operations. * Obtains move related paperwork from appropriate Operations personnel in order to properly service the customer. Responsible for all required paperwork associated with moves and shipments, including submission. * Responsible for assigned vehicle in regards to cleaning and inspecting truck, tools, and equipment in order to preserve the vehicle according to company standards. Oversees and/or assists with packing/unpacking, moving and loading/unloading of items to/from vehicle at move site and/or loading area. * Ensures adequate protection throughout move site immediately upon arrival at move site. * Plans and builds a balanced load utilizing own judgment and discretion in coordinating placement of move items in order to avoid "lease overs" and permit for safe operation of loaded vehicle. * Acts as the contact person between the move crew and the customer. Performs other related essential duties as assigned or requested. Requirements SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCES * Good verbal and written communication skills which can be gained with a high school diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
