Position Summary:

Class A CDL drivers efficiently deliver the right product to customer accounts in a courteous, professional, compliant, safe and timely manner. Drivers use a multitude of methods including manual lifting, use of two wheel dolly, ramps, and/or carts in multi-temperature environments.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

  • Safe and professional operation of a commercial motor vehicle, including but not limited to: Combination vehicles, straight trucks, or other vehicles such as pick-up trucks and service vans with a GVWR or GCWR over 10,001 lbs.

  • Complete pre-trip, in-route, and post-trip inspections of equipment.

  • Ability to operate vehicles in congested areas with limited space and potential obstacles.

  • Comply with all applicable Department of Transportation regulations including but not limited: Controlled Substances, Commercial Driver Licensing, Driver Qualification, CMV Operation, Hours of Service; CSA inspections and compliance, Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance, etc.

  • Maintain an acceptable driving record in compliance with Department of Transportation Regulations and Reyes Fleet Safety Policy.

  • Utilize an on board computer to track hours of service.

  • Provide exceptional customer service.

  • Safely and accurately unload and deliver multi-temperature product to customers utilizing a variety of preferred methods including lift gates, carts, conveyers, hand trucks, and/or pallet jacks.

  • Utilize barcode scanners at the point of delivery as required to verify delivered product.

  • Pick up returned product as required.

  • Accurately complete delivery and pick up paperwork.

  • Maintain contact with Dispatch to receive delivery or pick up instructions or changes in scheduled deliveries or pick-ups.

  • Maintain route plan as provided by Dispatch. Communicate to Dispatch any barriers to maintaining the route plan so any changes can be communicated to the customer.

  • Maintain knowledge and comprehension of all applicable Department of Transportation regulations and Company policies through Company training and certifications.

  • Observe all local, state and federal laws and ordinances.

  • Abide by all Reyes Holdings Company policies and procedures.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Drivers must have a valid Class A CDL license for interstate commerce.

  • Minimum of 1 year driving experience with a Class A-CDL or equivalent military driving experience.

  • We are an interstate carrier, by law you must be at least 21 years of age.

  • Candidates must have a satisfactory motor vehicle record.

  • Must be able to operate a two-wheel cart up and down a delivery ramp.

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are required

  • This position must pass a post-offer background, DOT physical, and drug test.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Route delivery unloading experience

  • Customer service experience.

  • Food distribution/delivery experience.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently and lift and/or move up to 100 pounds occasionally.

Shift: Monday-Friday 1:00AM-Until Finished Job Description & Requirements * Drives a Tractor Trailer to Customer Accounts may do merchandising and delivering product; driver controls the order; delivers on a Straight or Pup Truck - Deliver product to customers in an efficient, timely, courteous and accurate manner. - Ensure that all accounts are maintained according to the published schematics. - Secure and maintain distribution of all authorized company products. - Promote the addition and sales of new products. - Ensure sufficient route inventory levels to meet customer demands while adhering to account inventory control and company distribution procedures. - Submit all customer paperwork and deposits daily; including invoices, load orders, and handheld reports. - Maintain proper handheld records for all accounts. - Load or unload cases of product manually with hook, handcart or pallet-jack onto and off the truck. Ensure load is properly secured. Collect empty cases. - Resolve customer complaints. - Stock and/or rotate product on shelves or in cold room. - Reset product displays. - Must maintain idle time to company standards - Must be able to complete assigned route within DOT time regulations. - Required to either transport product across state lines, or if delivering intrastate, to haul some products that originate in other states. - Implement and maintain plan o gram integrity and Point of sale material where needed. - Maintain a valid Class A CDL (based on established route) and current DOT medical card. Per Company and/or DOT regulations, report any moving violations to management immediately. - Checks load security prior to travel and at each stop, making adjustments when needed. - Know and comply with all Department of Transportation regulations per the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations handbook. - Complete all daily DOT and customer paperwork including delivery tickets, pre and post trip inspections, driver logs, and vehicle service reports. - Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes. - Know and comply with all Department of Transportation regulations per the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations handbook. - Follow Good Manufacturing Practices. - Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area. - Follow all required work safe practices. This would include wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc. - Responsible for food safety, pre-requisite programs and food quality related to designated area. Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately. - Perform other duties as assigned. Job Requirements: - High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. - 1 year related experience required. - Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. - Experience within the food and beverage industry preferred. - Must be able to drive, stand, walk, kneel, lift and bend required for virtually the entire shift. Balance-pulling product, climb in and out of truck. - Ability to lift and/or move up to six cases on hand truck. (cases weigh 20 to 55 lbs.). - Must be able to work in indoor and outdoor environment with moderate noise, sometimes slippery floors. Temperature range from 34-120 degrees F. - Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends and holidays. - Be able to effectively work in a team environment. - Effective verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to work in a fast paced environment. - Must possess and maintain a CDL Class A with Air Brake endorsement. - Must have a clean driving record. - Must be able to pass all pre*employment screens (including drug, background and criminal checks).
