Specialty Beverage of Richmond, VA - distributor of some of the finest beers in the world and a member of the Sheehan Family Companies is in search of a Delivery Driver for our retail routes based out of Richmond, VA.. The primary responsibility for these positions is to ensure the successful and timely delivery of our products through out the state of Virginia

The shift runs Monday through Friday starting between 5:30 AM - 4:00 PM or whenever the route is completed.

Starting pay ranges from $18 - $22 per hour, dependent on experience.

Requirements

Qualified applicants must have a valid and clean CDL B drivers license, a high school diploma or GED, experience driving full-sized straight trucks and thorough knowledge of the Richmond area is preferred.

Two wheeled hand truckElectric and hydraulic pallet jackMEASUREMENTS:Case of 24 cans 15 3/4 " X 10 1/2 " X 5" -- 10 to 30 lb.Case of 24 bottles 16 1/2 " X 10 1/2 " X 10"-- 25 to 48 lb.Quarter Barrel 15 1/2 " in diameter, 14" long-- 87 lb.Half Barrel 15 1/2 " in diameter, 23" long -- 165 lb.CRITICAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Walking and climbing steps and stairs on a frequent basisTwo handed lifting, handling, carrying cases from floor to overhead on a frequent basisTwo handed lifting, handling, carrying quarter barrels and half barrels from floor to 48" on a frequent basisPushing and pulling two wheeled hand truck with cases on level surfaces on a frequent basisPushing and pulling pallet jacks with cases and/or barrels on level surfaces on an occasional basisSustained squatting, kneeling, stooping and bending while moving cases and barrels

All candidates considered will have a background check, pre-employment drug screen and a physical.

It is responsible for ensuring that deliveries are prepared to meet customer requirements in the most efficient manner. This involves loading customer orders properly on the truck, ensuring that appropriate forms are completed, following designated routes and time schedules from a mobile device, and delivering merchandise to the customer in a safe and timely manner. Delivery Drivers may also be called upon to perform other tasks as needed, including warehouse duties, tinting and mixing customer orders and waiting on customers in our paint stores. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: * Must have the authorization to work in this country without visa sponsorship. * Must be at least 21 years of age. * Must have a valid and unrestricted driver's license, and an acceptable driving record from the State Bureau of Motor Vehicles. * Must be able to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently. * Must be able to tint paint, therefore, must have good color perception. * Must be able to operate a computer and communicate via the telephone. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Must have a current Medical Examiner's Certificate (ME Certificate) from a Department of Transportation (DOT) licensed "medical examiner" listed on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) National Registry. If you are selected for this position and do not have a current ME Certificate, you must be able to obtain one within five business days of receiving a conditional offer of employment. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Experience in a delivery, retail sales or customer service position.
