VIEW JOBS 5/21/2018 12:00:00 AM 2018-08-19T00:00 Job Description SUMMARY With minimal supervision, applies principles of accounting to analyze financial statements and documents, identify problems and research solutions, prepare financial reports by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following and any other duties that may be assigned: * Maintain, analyze and reconcile General Ledger accounts on a recurring basis; including preparing and posting monthly journal entries, providing variance analysis, and investigating and determining potential impacts of different activities on financial statements. * Prepare journal entries for entry into the general ledger system on a monthly basis by collecting necessary data, analyzing and/or allocating costs and preparing audit transaction support for the journal entries. * Coordinate month-end close, journal entries, expense allocation process, and preparation of monthly GAAP statements. * Coordinates implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures. * Prepares bank reconciliations and resolves discrepancies. * Reconciles intercompany receivable and payable accounts. Communicates with other Company locations to resolve differences. * Maintains Fixed Asset Data Base, manages Construction in Process, Fixed Asset accounts and calculations for depreciation. * Translates international financial statements. * Maintains and oversees the General Ledger including data security, journal entry integrity, interfaces, chart of accounts, and report writer. Responsible for ensuring principles of accounting. * Coordinate and assist audits, both internal and external. * Plan and perform special financial projects/assignments for the Management as required or directed. Job Requirements EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) from four-year college or university and 3-4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in a manufacturing facility and familiarity with Fixed Asset systems is preferred. COMMUNICATION SKILLS Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately orally, in writing or electronically. Ability to communicate work goals, progress and changes as required. INTERPERSONAL SKILLS Ability to apply interpersonal skills (empathy, negotiation, rapport, sensitivity) to develop and maintain effective working relations. Ability to demonstrate character, integrity, honesty, ethical behavior and industriousness. Ability to effectively participate in teams and projects as well as contribute to unit cohesiveness and productivity. Ability to anticipate, negotiate and manage conflicts, problems, changing situations and deadlines. COMPUTER SKILLS Ability to utilize Microsoft Office products with excellent Excel skills. Ability to learn and use ERP systems such as ROI, Microsoft Dynamics, and Unicom. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such reports, policies, instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to use basic math skills and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and distance vision. Occasional lifting up to 20 pounds. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
