Pay Based on Hours/Shift: $22/hour as Forklift Operator and $24/hour as Driver
SUMMARY
The driver is responsible for driving company truck and picks up loads of densified cans. May do minor repairs on assigned vehicle and perform service on can densifiers at customer accounts and keep the Maintenance Department informed of major problems.
This is a hybrid role that will also take on responsibilities of a Forklift Operator.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Forklift Operator
Loads and/or unloads materials on trailers
Weighs, labels and properly stores all processed materials as required
Maintains and services the forklift truck and informs the Supervisor of any significant issues
Completes forklift inspections by checking the items on the Daily Forklift Inspection sheet and reports any significant issues to shift supervisor and documents findings
Operates balers, granulators, trash compactor and other equipment as needed
Provides proper weight tickets to front office for billing purposes
Ensure proper tare weight program is used for material by referencing spec sheets
Use electrical hoist to put new spools of wire on spindles that weigh up to 100 pounds
Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
Maintains regular and predictable attendance
Driver
Drives tractor & trailer which may require shifting and use of a clutch on assigned vehicle.
Responsible for completing the Daily Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) noting any defects on assigned equipment, daily Driver Log and Monthly Mileage Report.
Follow all Federal, State and Local driving regulations and ordinances.
Perform minor repair or cleaning of can densifiers.
Assist with overall maintenance needed in the shop, wash & clean customer machines as needed.
Use required PPE protective equipment as required which includes, but is not limited to, proper ear, eye, hand protection.
Clean and perform basic up-keep/maintenance on assigned vehicles.
Occasionally required to perform the duties and responsibilities of a Material Handler: separate, sort, and process all materials by using necessary process machinery to complete tasks.
Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
Must be able to interact in person with peers and management for the duration of the shift.
Must be able to handle high stress situations
Perform other related duties as assigned.

BASIC EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to follow safety procedures for safe vehicle operation.
Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.
Ability to work in a loud, wet, dusty and physically demanding work environment including extreme hot and cold temperature variations.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to demonstrate safe entry, exit, and operation of the vehicle
Ability to use limbs to operate controls, levers, and gears, such as shifting gears, to drive, position, load, and unload the truck.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Remains in a seated position for the duration of the shift.
Frequently operates controls to position, load, and unload the truck.
Frequently lifts and moves materials and tools weighing up to 50lbs to load/unload and tarp the truck, and perform basic maintenance.
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Follow safety procedures for safe vehicle operation.
Quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.
Write routine reports and correspondence.
Routinely performs repetitive movements such as bending, twisting, reaching and lifting.
