Responsible for maintaining the quality standards set forth by senior management ensuring that all regulatory and compliance requirements are met related to CD and IRA deposit accounts and the bank's interest is protected by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Processes CD/IRA account maintenance, transfers, distributions and closures according to government regulations and company policies Accurately processes and balances debits and credits using current applications in excess of $1 million daily Provides documentation for SOX404, audit and compliance requests Researches complex transactions to resolve customer questions or disputes Monitors opening and closing of accounts, account distributions and rollovers Monitors customer accounts for over-contribution and early distributions in order to adhere to federal regulations Manually loads all educational IRA's and beneficiary accounts to the Savings Time (or current) application Monitors all beneficiary accounts to ensure adherence to the state and federal rules and regulations Performs mandatory distributions that have reached the appropriate age as determined by the current Life Expectancy Tables Calculates and performs interest rate adjustments Reviews year-end IRA Statements of Condition and tax reporting documentation for accuracy, making necessary corrections before mailing to the customer Performs account research to satisfy subpoenas Provides assistance and training aids to Branch Solutions and Retail Branches Conducts new associate training within CD/IRA Service Area Assists analyst with conversions and application upgrades
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & KNOWLEDGE:
Associate's degree or equivalent; at least three years related experience and/or training 3 years experience in banking or the tax reporting industry or 2 years in ira or investment sales is required Language Skills Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing using the English language; Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos; Ability to write simple correspondence; Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions and percentages; Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills Knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Word and Excel; Ability to learn or knowledge of Outlook email program Certificates, Licenses, Registrations No specific certifications, licensure or registrations are needed to satisfactorily perform this job.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel such as using a computer mouse or writing and talk or hear in person or on the telephone with other employees, supervisors and in some cases the general public and board of directors. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
