Job Summary:

The person hired for the position of CDI/Coder Analytics Trainer will be a part of a group that are savvy, creative, experienced trainers who go onsite with our clients every day, to help facilitate the use of 3M HIS software implementations. We share a collective commitment to quality, clinical documentation improvements, and coding - and ultimately to helping our clients improve quality outcomes. CDI and Coding boundaries are blurring and aligning, along with Quality. You are motivated by educating others, by showing the ways in which Quality, Coding and Documentation can work together in a dynamic, professional environment.

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military environments to a 3M career.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Introduction, demonstration and training of users of current and developing applications: 3M 360 Encompass / CDIS software, 3M Coding and Reimbursement System, and others

  • Delivery of live classroom- and web- based training, as well as contribution to asynchronous training

  • Instruction on creation and basic interpretation of relevant reports and related metrics

  • May provide education on coding regulations, documentation, compliance and best practices, for these and other specialty programs as determined

  • May serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME), mentor and contributor to internal 3M HIS teams, such as Implementations, Support, Documentation, Instructional Design or others as designated

  • Assist with project pre-planning, as well as post go-live follow up

  • Actively participates in relevant corporate programs/initiatives, complies with professional and quality standards complies with corporate policies and procedures, and acts in a manner consistent with 3M's values and ethical standards.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Possess an Associate's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution with RN license or RHIT/RHIA Certification

  • Minimum of five (5) years working with physicians on coding documentation requirements and documentation to improve quality outcomes OR combined experience in inpatient/outpatient coding or healthcare regulatory and/or management experience in a clinical setting

  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree with focus on Health Care: Health Information Management, Public Health, Business, Nursing, Informatics

  • 1+ recent years of ICD-10 coding training experience

  • 3+ years as Coder/Coding Auditor/CDI Specialist or Concurrent Reviewer/Health Informaticist or Population Health Analyst/Clinical Instructor

  • ICD-10 Certified Trainer

  • 3+ Years of Utilization Review, Case Management or Quality Management or Compliance experience

  • Fluent in 3M Coding and Reimbursement System application, Coding and Clinical Education specific to CDI Programs

  • Coding Knowledge and Coding education as it relates to documentation and quality improvement

  • ICD-9/ICD-10 Data Analysis

Location: Remote

Travel: May include up to 75% domestic

Relocation: Is not authorized

Works closely with the business to ensure that associates receive effective on-the-job training support. Position requires facilitation skills and the ability to provide coaching and feedback. Responsibilities * Facilitates training classes for operational business unit associates to ensure that established training objectives are met. * Follows up with participants to gauge transfer of learning and continued training on the job. * Works closely with business unit Leads to ensure that all new hires receive the necessary on-the-job training and transition support to be successful in their roles. * Partners with the Learning and Development (L&D) Director and Business Unit Leader to determine and address performance gaps based upon quality indicators, customer feedback, and observations. * Acts as Subject Matter Expert for the Instructional Design Team when new initiatives are introduced. * Attends meetings and events with the business unit management to stay current with operational changes and supporting business process and technology. * Solicits feedback from participants on program content and effectiveness to identify opportunities for improvement. * Sets up training room as specified in design. * Partners with the Training Administration to support logistics for training sessions (i.e. location, equipment, materials, communication) * Keeps up to date on areas of content expertise through ongoing education, review of operations policies and procedures, and regular communication with subject matter experts and CareCentrix management. * Must perform other duties as required or assigned. TRAVEL REQUIRED - up to 50% Qualifications REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE Position requires a minimum of two years' experience or knowledge of a clinical business unit, specifically Utilzation Management. Associate's degree in nursing required; Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred. Licensed RN. Knowledge of managed home healthcare is essential. Candidate must possess excellent verbal and written skills. Prior experience facilitating training is a plus. Moderate proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint is required. Knowledge of Utilization Management and URAC standards, required. Experience with Interater Reliability Testing required.
