Job Description:

CD and Retirement Senior Product Manager role with responsibility for the product strategy and end to end product management of Consumer CD and IRA products. This role supports new savings products, programs and initiatives that will transform the way consumers think about long term savings and retirement.


Role responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Identify product development opportunities, and apply both internal and external learning's to deliver actionable strategies and tactics to improve retention, profitability and drive deeper customer relationships

  • Partner with channel, customer experience, analytics, and technology partners to identify and resolve issues

  • Work with finance, marketing, technology, channels and other key business partners to drive strategy, forecasting, and deliver on key initiatives

  • Identify competitive best practices and look for opportunities to implement

  • Support enterprise retirement programs

  • Build and encourage customer driven environment through investing time in customer-facing activities to understand their needs and ensures customer-facing perspective is an input into business decisions and initiatives

  • Support strategic initiatives related to driving sales and incremental revenue. Work with finance, marketing, technology, channels and other key business partners

  • Consult with senior management in evaluating current product constructs, P&L and trends and developing strategies to implement changes and improvements. Requires a thorough knowledge of the department or business units functional area or products. Working knowledge of general bank policies, programs and procedures and financial/accounting practices.

We are seeking candidates with prior experience in Product Strategy Development, Product Management, Pricing or Deposits Product Experience and specifically CD and other term product and retirement product experience. Candidates should have proven ability to think strategically and tactically to drive product success, and ability to form strong partnerships with key stakeholders in other areas to accomplish this work.

Required Skills:

  • Strategic thinking and tactical plan development with the ability to understand marketing, product positioning, channel and client engagement

  • Understands the business acumen and financials

  • Excellent written and verbal communication with strong executive presence

  • Strong influence skills and can effectively build a case and develop a successful recommendation for buy-in

  • Ability to navigate at all levels in the organization and interact effectively with audiences of varying skill sets and authority

  • Strong leader that positively motivates others and successfully builds relationships

  • Collaborative, able to bringing teams together and direct work to achieve goals

  • Position will not have direct management responsibility, but will lead and own work performed by the team

Preferred Skills:

  • Business, Economics, Finance degrees

  • Prior experience with deposits, Merrill Edge or Merrill Lynch

  • Understanding of how the bank works from an enterprise perspective

  • Product management experience

  • Marketing project management

  • Results-oriented with proven track record of outstanding ability to accomplish objectives

  • Ability to handle ambiguity and adapt to changing circumstances

  • Strong influence and relationship building skills

The Role Our Retirement team combines expertise in retirement and investment consulting to support global organizations worldwide in designing, managing, administering and communicating all types of retirement plans. In this exciting role as a Retirement Actuarial Consultant, you will have the opportunity to support diverse projects related to mergers & acquisitions, asset liability studies, forecasting, early retirement windows and other special projects as needed. You will also: * Deliver superior, consistent project management for assigned clients: * Draft statements of work, project plans and budgets involving multiple workflow streams and client teams * Serve as the day to day project lead, ensuring the progress of the team against established objectives, budget, timeline, deliverables and quality standards * Serve as primary, daily contact to clients on delivery of services * Develop a trusted advisor relationship with client contacts through effective communication and efficient, quality execution of projects * Interface with colleagues from other practices and regions on assignments that reflect the client's broader business issues * Manage client expectations and raise appropriate issues to Senior Consultants and Client Relationship Managers * Provide value-added consulting expertise on retirement plan valuation, management and design, financial risk management and funding projects, and special projects involving global consulting, strategic workforce planning and total rewards strategies * Ensure clients are regularly informed about the implications and opportunities that changing laws and regulations have related to their retirement plans * Perform technical check of work products * Contribute to the development of new tools and approaches * Meet revenue and billable hour goals as described by manager * Support the generation of new business as part of the broader team * Develop new business opportunities and enhance existing relationships * Directly contribute to clients' success through applying your technical expertise * Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams * Demonstrate natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with clients/colleagues at all levels * Serve as mentor to project team associates The Requirements * 5 to 6 years of experience and success in the design/management of defined benefit plans, ideally gained in a consulting environment * An undergraduate degree is required; Advanced degree preferred * At least one or more actuarial credentials - ASA and/or EA; FSA, CERA & CFA credentials is encouraged and a major advantage * Experience and expertise delivering retirement consulting services to Fortune 1,000 or organizations of similar size * A track record of performing core retirement work as well as the ability to contribute to cross-practice client engagements * Proven experience successfully managing multiple projects and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget * Demonstrated success or strong evidence to support the ability to contribute to new business generation * Strong client relationship, interpersonal and team skills * An executive presence with polished and well developed oral and written communication skills * Self-starter attitude and ability to work within ambiguity * Flexibility and proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues * Strong analytical and creative skills * Enjoys training/mentoring junior staff * The ability to see the "big picture," leveraging the resources of related practices to address the clients' business challenges * Intellectual curiosity and the desire to expand one's business acumen in the retirement and human capital consulting field * Strong knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word The Company Willis Towers Watson is a leading global advisory, broking and solutions company that helps clients around the world turn risk into a path for growth.
