Position Summary:

The CCHIP Behavioral Health Provider I provides the following services: Supervised psychotherapy, substance use assessments and treatment with patients; intervenes when referrals are needed, facilitate behavioral health sessions, as well as group sessions utilizing an evidence-based model of group treatment or methodology. Provides necessary referrals for behavioral health treatment, along with HIV education to clients in Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP). The provider will be stationed in clinics to provide appropriate support and education on behavioral health and HIV, therefore reducing the risk of spreading HIV via abstinence and behavioral changes. The position allows for a hybrid remote work schedule. The interventions will also promote enhanced medical treatment interventions by stopping the negative effects of substance use.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Performs assessments/intakes, and documentation; familiarizes self with aforementioned behavioral health standards.

  • Provides direct treatment services to clients, their families and/or significant others including individual, couple, family and group substance use treatment (IOP) as directed or recommended by treatment team and/or Supervisor. Discusses risk reduction activities with significant others. Provides services to clients according to internal standards.

  • Responsible for facilitating Groups and providing mental health and substance use services with patients engaged in care as direct by supervisor.

  • Provide Behavioral Health on-call and consultation/psychotherapy services to clinics, inpatient CCHS and other service areas with available licensed supervision.

  • Provide Substance Use support at Austin clinic via group facilitation and individual substance use support services.

  • Maintains resource list of community services related to behavioral health treatment. Makes appropriate referrals for BHCS clients and follow-up to ensure continuity of treatment.

  • Documents all activities as require by regulatory agencies and Supervisor, including patient incentives, transportation and patient electronic medical record including billing when appropriate.

  • Participates in and/or conducts in-service training as required or recommended via Supervision session and as required for IAODAPCA certification; provides educational sessions for clients including preparation for lectures and psycho educational groups.

  • Participates in all clinical and administrative meetings; others as assigned. Prepares for and attends all Clinical Staffings and patient related meetings and provides consultation.

  • Works in a professional and cooperative manner with clients and staff; adheres to Code of Ethics, employee conduct expectations, policies and procedures and adheres to all Federal and State laws on confidentiality. Is accepting, non-judgmental and works effectively with clients and staff of various ethnic and cultural backgrounds, lifestyles, sexual orientations and social histories, many of whom may be difficult or complicated patients.

  • Provide management and coordination of care for patients receiving medication assisted treatment of substance addictions.

  • Enhance CCHIP wide and behavioral health research.

  • Computer literate in Microsoft word and Computer skills in word processing and database management programs required.

  • Knowledge and familiarity of virtual meeting platforms required.

  • Assist with cross-coverage when other staff members are absent and as assigned by Supervisor.

  • Knowledgeable and applicable use of SUPR guidelines, Title 42 CFR and Illinois Part 2060.

  • Employees are responsible for maintaining patient interaction, documents, patient care/coordination, medical information, and other work-related materials in a designated confidential and secure remote office location

  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor, Associate Director, or Designee.

Qualifications:

Graduate Degree required; Proof of training specific to providing mental health treatment required. Experience providing mental health assessments and support. CADC, CODP, MAATP or other IAODAPCA certification required. Experience providing Behavioral Health services (substance use and mental health treatment) with Spanish speaking population and other culturally diverse populations required. Experience working with persons with HIV or other chronic illnesses required; must have strong computer skills; must have knowledge of virtual meeting platforms; Secure remote workspace; travel between multiple sites required; professional liability insurance coverage also required. Experience supervising Students preferred. Good verbal and written general communication skills and specific clinical documentation knowledge/skills. Bilingual competence in English and Spanish a plus.
