Job Summary: (includes but is not limited to the following, other duties may be assigned):

Community Choice Aggregation programs (CCAs) are a rapidly growing segment of the electricity market; they are formed by local governments to supply electricity and related services to customers in their geographic area in place of the incumbent utility. CCAs
require a broad and complex range of back office systems, operations and data to enable startup and management of their program, and contract with firms like Calpine Energy Solutions to perform these services.

The CCA Services Analyst plays a key role in delivering these services. The position will work with IT systems like CRM and databases which are at the heart of our CCA business. The successful candidate will perform daily Q/A processes as well as learn a wide
range of technical assignments quickly. He/she should get excited about building a strong technical and data foundation working in the weeds to ensure our systems and data meet requirements.

The position also offers exposure to complex energy and customer data, and the ability to learn and apply advanced data management practices including SQL queries, data reporting and data analytics. The successful candidate will need to be proactive and team-oriented
to learn quickly and deliver on multiple assignments.

The role will interact extensively with Operations, IT, Client Services and with clients to ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks. Professional, clear and precise verbal and written communication skills are required to ensure information is accurately
exchanged with both technical and non-technical counterparts.

The work is dynamic and requires a high degree of focus to ensure accurate results. A can-do attitude and drive to deliver results on schedule are essential for success in this position. The CCA Services Analyst reports directly to the CCA Business Solutions

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform application testing, including IVR, CRM and iframe systems; perform regression testing of system upgrades.

  • Support user access of various IT systems and perform user access audits.

  • Produce and validate accuracy of data reports and ensure delivery to clients as needed.

  • Execute mass updates of data in designated CRM tables.

  • Document business requirements for data reports and automated workflows.

  • Adopt tools including Jira, Power BI, SQL queries, etc.

  • Other related assignments as directed.

  • Requires a bachelor's degree, preferably in engineering, business or accounting.

  • 2 years of equivalent work experience in similar role preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written skills to convey technical information.

  • Manage multiple assignments concurrently in a proactive manner.

  • Sitting and standing for long periods of time.

DESCRIPTION Under the supervision of the Senior Financial Analyst, the Financial Services Analyst is responsible for the day to day fiscal activity associated with the administration of Ship Operations and Marine Technical Services (SOMTS), a unique seagoing department of the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Incumbent performs a variety of duties necessary in the administration of accounts management following University policy and guideline requirements, makes policy and procedure recommendations, performs monthly on-line reconciliation of ledgers, monitors expenditures, provides regular financial status reports, independently sets-up and maintains internal bookkeeping systems for monitoring budgetary activities, and provides complex fiscal analysis and reporting. The incumbent provides a high level of support to employees who travel (both domestically and internationally), processes accounts payable and receivable, consulting with colleagues, vendors and central campus offices as necessary. The Financial Services Analyst coordinates and audits express card transactions and prepares activity reports for supervisors, follows-up on accounting documents, and provides assistance as directed by the Senior Financial Analyst and Business Officer. The incumbent also processes departmental payroll. Participates in developing departmental policies and procedures, solving problems that require significant knowledge and experience in personnel and payroll management, travel, and accounting. * Occasional overtime may be required. QUALIFICATIONS * A Bachelor's Degree in related area; and/or equivalent experience/training. * Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices and payroll policies and practices. Basic knowledge of financial or accounting concepts, processes and procedures. * Strong experience with payroll administration and timekeeping procedures utilizing online payroll and personnel systems, calculating overtime and leave balances, and administering compensation in a complex environment. * Demonstrated experience in the principals and practices of fund accounting, cost analysis, and audit procedures. Knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources. * Proficiency using computer programs; spreadsheet and database applications. Strong ability use of and database software. Strong Excel experience and knowledge required. Experience accurately entering data into an electronic/computer-based system. * Proven experience with accurately processing large volumes of detailed work, and working independently and effectively with minimal supervision. Strict attention to detail. Ability to and accurately complete documents and computer transactions error free and in a timely manner. * Strong experience with online and web-based accounting systems with extensive use of financial/accounting systems and processes. Knowledge of financial data management and reporting systems. * Proven knowledge of privacy and confidentiality laws, regulations etc, pertaining to employment and personal information. Maintain strict confidentiality overall, and specifically to matters pertaining to personnel and payroll matters, including paper and computerized records. * Strong critical thinking skills. Ability to independently interpret and implement appropriate UCSD and agency policies, procedures, and guidelines.
