"An opportunity exists within the Missile Defense & Surveillance Software Department located in

McKinney, Texas. The Missile Defense & Surveillance Software Department is comprised of engineers in McKinney, Texas; Huntsville, Alabama; Chesapeake, Virginia; and Saint Petersburg, Florida.

Successful candidates will coordinate with other managers in the aforementioned locations as needed and will also work with a team of software engineers to develop and test new capabilities or to maintain existing capabilities. The Missile Defense & Surveillance Software Department strives for technical excellence by drawing upon a diverse workforce whose knowledge base spans the entire software development life cycle and covers the complete spectrum of modern languages and computing platforms.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will perform line management of a section of software engineers within the department with the primary responsibility of ensuring that each employee has suitable work assignments and opportunities for growth and advancement. Section management duties include performance development and appraisal, salary and manpower planning and ensuring adherence to company policies. This candidate will also contribute significantly to the technical oversight of employees in support of their work assignments, and will also be responsible for supporting a major program, including possible leadership or key individual contributor role.

Job Responsibilities:

Ensure that each employee has suitable work assignments and opportunities for growth and

Contribute to the technical oversight of employees in support of their daily work assignments

Support performance development and appraisal

Support salary and manpower planning

Ensure adherence to company policies and communicate company and program information

Support a major program task, including all phases of software development lifecycle, tools, and

Methodologies

Support various program related efforts and customer meetings, for which travel will be required

Support overhead cost account management

Provide technical and career mentoring to section members, team members, and junior engineers

Required Skills:

Line and / or project management experience

Strong communication, interpersonal and decision making skills

8+ years of experience in support of software lifecycle activities

Strong experience with C/C++ programming language

This position requires a Secret Security Clearance.

Bachelors Degree or Higher in Computer Science or related Engineering field

Desired Skills:

Cost / Schedule Management and Reporting experience

Customer focus and collaboration skills

Self-disciplined with a proven applicable technical background

Effective presence and influential leadership capability, with the ability to interact with senior levels

of leadership effectively including customer, internal, teammates and suppliers

Experience with embedded real-time development

Familiarity with Agile software methodologies

An Allied Universal Professional Security Officer assigned to this specific job position will be responsible for the protection of and access to highly classified and sensitive equipment, technology and information. Protection of this equipment is extremely regulated in a controlled environment and only highly qualified Professional Security Officers are charged with this critical responsibility. Rigorous adherence and understanding of security protocols is mandatory, as is a US Government security clearance. The Allied Universal Professional Security Officer candidates for this position will undergo an extensive vetting process by Allied Universal, the client and the US Government (DoD). This mandatory process is lengthy and thorough. Allied Universal Professional Security Officers perform many tasks including preserving order and enforcing regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises. Officers may be required to patrol or respond to calls for service on the facility by foot, bicycle, or vehicle. Other duties required of a professional security officer include working at an entry control point to a facility and answering phones, greeting guests and assisting employees.
