Job Description
Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
Ensure proper start-up and shut-down procedures are followed in accordance with SOP's
Monitor housekeeping, and permit requirements for the Waste Analysis Plan (WAP)
Maintain compliance with facility permits and plans and comply with DOT, RCRA, and OSHA regulations
Oversees the traffic controls, entering and exiting of the CBU and surrounding areas
Assign daily dump reports and maintain production logs
Coordinates and schedules trucks for outbound disposal
Coordinates and assists with rail car movement (on site) and lining
Ensure all trucks/railcars are properly loaded/unloaded and scaled to state and federal regulations.
Ensures that all shipping documents are filled out properly and truck is in compliance with DEP/DOT regulations
Acts as Scale Operator during truck load out
Coordinates tracking of waste both in and out of the building
Makes sure pits are sampled according to WAP and brought to the lab daily
Coordinates with Manager for the disposal of waste in compliance with local, state and federal regulations
Orders adequate supply of admixture for treatment and solidification of waste
Review lab generated QA/QC reports to determine if load is off spec and to process in individual pits in CBU
Trained to operate, TrackMobile, Front End Loader and Roll off truck
Train and monitor work performance of personnel
Communicate off-specification materials to managers
Conduct toolbox talks and area inspections
Communicate with plant management to accomplish daily goals
Perform other tasks as assigned by management
Hourly Rate: $28-31/hr.
Qualifications
Basic Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
2 or more years of prior experience working with hazardous waste materials
Ability to wear company provided personal protection equipment including eye protection, steel toed shoes, hard hat, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates or bachelor's degree in Chemistry or an Environmental Sciences field
Two or more years of experience at a TSDF
Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and RCRA Regulations
Proficiency with Windows based programs (i.e. Excel and Word)
Operate Heavy Equipment
