CBP AIRCRAFT SERVICER LAREDO

Occupational Summary

Responsible for performing aircraft servicing, ground handling, and operational (daily and turn-around) inspections as required to maintain flight operations. Fuels aircraft and ground support equipment. Directs aircraft start-up and taxi operations using hand signals or light wands at dusk. Assists in towing and movement of aircraft by riding brakes or serving as a wing walker. May be required to drive tow tractor and reposition aircraft on the flight line. Reports to lead person on site.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist mechanics with daily and turn-around inspections within time constraints to ensure flight safety and integrity.

  • Operates service vehicles to replenish oxygen, nitrogen, hydraulic fluid, ( After appropriate on-the-job training and certification)

  • Operates ground support equipment such as power units, air conditioning units, and tow tractors. (After appropriate on-the-job training and certification)

  • Take fuel samples and service oil in accordance with established procedures.

  • Launch and recover aircraft by fire guarding and marshaling. ( After appropriate on the job training and certification)

  • Required to clean interior and exterior of aircraft using portable ladders, brushes, rags, water hose and vacuum.

  • Required to secure aircraft in parking positions with blocks, and tie downs.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Support the FOD program by maintaining a clean work area, cleaning up after completing jobs and flight line walk-downs.

Minimum Education and Experience Required

  • Must have one (1) year recent aircraft serving experience

  • Knowledge of aircraft and flight line safety practices.

  • Will be required to pass a government back ground investigation.

23060 AIRCRAFT SERVICER (Airport Utility Worker) The Aircraft Servicer (Airport Utility Worker) services aircraft, performing any combination of the following tasks, directs incoming and outgoing aircraft near terminal or flight line parking area to assist pilot's maneuvering of the aircraft on ground, using hand or light signals or drives light truck with guiding sign, and secures aircraft in parking position with blocks, stakes, and tie downs. The Aircraft Servicer (Airport Utility Worker) does the following tasks: operates service vehicles to replenish fuel, oil, water, waste system chemicals, oxygen, hydraulic fluid, and to remove waste, enters in the maintenance records description of the servicing performed, checks for fuel contamination by draining sumps and fuel drains; operates ground support equipment such as electrical power supply and engine starting units,

examines tires for specified air pressure and condition, assists in jacking and towing aircraft, removes and replaces defective tires, positions and removes boarding platforms to unload or load aircraft passengers, unloads and loads luggage and cargo, using tow truck with luggage carts, and cleans exterior or

interior of aircraft, using portable platform ladders, brushes, rags, water hose, and vacuum. The Aircraft Servicer may de-ice aircraft wings and assemblies, load and unload containers of food, beverages, and dishes for in-flight meal services, trace lost luggage for customers and prepare lost baggage claims, and install drag chutes or retrieve them and send them to parachute shop for repacking.

VIEW JOBS 4/18/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-07-17T00:00 Supporting the Most Exciting and Meaningful Missions in the World CBP Avionics Technician Laredo BASIC FUNCTION SUMMARY * Performs maintenance on aircraft electrical and electronics systems, instruments, auto‑pilots and Navigation Systems as required. * Responsible for overseeing and performing scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance; inspections and corrosion control of aircraft components, airframe and powerplant; and maintain appropriate aircraft records and logs. * Reports to the Maintenance Manager. Site Supervisor and or the Site Manager. * Must be customer oriented. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES * Troubleshoot all avionics systems, conducting fault isolation and repair of faulty components. * Build up and replace faulty wire harness/bundles as needed. * Test avionics systems periodically as required for preventative maintenance. * Install/modify Government furnished Classified Communications Equipment according to applicable Technical Directives, industry standards and FAA regulations. * Produce new and modify existing wiring diagrams according to applicable technical data/documents and FAA regulations. * Perform corrosion control inspections on aircraft avionics components and take corrective actions when necessary. * Perform quality assurance inspections on avionics equipment and ensure all avionics test equipment and special tools are calibrated on schedule and prior to usage. * Coordinate with the appropriate supply personnel to ensure that an adequate inventory of electronic and electrical components are available. * Conduct off-station maintenance when required. * Effectively communicate with the customer in a courteous, professional manner and research any reported aircraft discrepancies through fault isolation to make repairs. * Wash, clean and maintain the interior and exterior of the aircraft to company standards. * Support the Tool and FOD Programs by maintaining a clean work areas and following procedures. * Maintain aircraft log books, status reports, historical and administrative data as required. * Follow manufacture's, government, DoD and FAA technical data required to appropriately maintain CBP aircraft in accordance with the required regulations and airworthiness standards. * Operate or maintain Ground Support Equipment, vehicles or equipment as required. * May be required to exercise independent judgment and travel or relocate to other geographical locations including foreign countries on temporary duty. QUALIFICATION STANDARDS * Minimum of five (5) years recent experience working full-time as an Avionics Technician. * A FCC General license is preferred. * A current FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate is preferred. * A thorough working knowledge of both military and general aviation electrical and electronic systems, and components and pitot static systems. * Experience in repair/maintenance/installation of intercommunications, ADF, LF, VHF, HF, and UHF communications, navigations systems, instrument landing systems, auto pilots and associated aircraft lighting systems. * Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. * The mental and visual ability to read, understand and interpret detailed technical publications and instructions. * Must be a US citizen and completed high school or equivalent. * Must have the ability to deal courteously, professionally, and effectively with the customer. * Must be able to obtain a passport, visa and Government security clearance and travel to support field operations. * Must be able to work well with others or independently, predicated on the scope and depth of operations at specified sites * Analytical abilities sufficient to handle complex technical and administrative details. * May require an FAA Form 8060‑1 Repairman Certification within 90 days of assignment to this position. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS Physical Demands: This classification activity is usually accomplished in a office/hangar/flight line environment and as such requires the scope of physical movements and postures normally associated with office/hangar/flight line activities.
