With nearly 7,500 employees and over 1,000 licensed in-patient beds, UT Health East Texas provides healthcare services to thousands of patients annually through our hospitals, clinics, Level 1 trauma facility, air emergency fleet and EMS service in a metropolitan service area of a quarter-million people.

Our UT Health Tyler hospital is seeking an experienced Secretary/Reports Assistant. We are looking for your experience, knowledge and patient care skills in our Central Business Office where you will be responsible for:

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Answering all incoming calls and routing them to appropriate staff

  • Schedules meeting including but not limited to: management, physician leadership, special called meetings, etc.

  • Prepares standard monthly reports as required

  • Scan and route incoming documents relevant to the business

  • Serve as a communication liaison for physician services in dealing with providers as required in the absence of leadership in the office

  • Accumulates monthly reports from manager and aggregates into the monthly operations report to be submitted by the Vice President

  • Prepares Employee Requisitions for any vacant or newly established positions

  • Completes Contract Request Term Sheet (CRTS) for any provider for which a contract is anticipated or planned to be offered (with guidance from VP)

  • Creates and maintains a current telephone/contact/clinic directory for the entire network

  • College Degree recommended

  • Proficient at using Excel, Word

  • One Year of experience in a medical practice setting

  • Understanding of medical practice operations sufficient to being able to communicate with healthcare providers

  • Adaptable to change and ability to expand role

  • Must be willing to participate as a team member with other staff

  • Must be committed to a strict confidentiality rule for all patient protected information

  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively
