The CBB Risk Management Quality Assurance Services (QAS) Quality Assurance Supervisor (operational focus not software testing) will lead projects and quality assurance activities within Consumer and Business Banking (CBB) that ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, and other applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, as assigned.

Position requires retail lending knowledge to lead the teams within area of responsibility and previous experience managing assurance/testing professionals and projects.

Experience should include at least two years of demonstrated experience successfully supervising teams that create and perform quality assurance review activities within Consumer and Business Banking including: transaction and process testing to confirm adherence to industry best practice, regulatory guidance, policies, procedures, and sound risk management practices; testing of internal controls to provide assurance that the suite of controls are designed adequately and operating effectively to mitigate the identified risks.

Experience should also demonstrate competencies in supervising, coaching and training staff, inclusive of the review and approval of quality assurance test scripts to be performed by Quality Analysts; detailed review of completed testing and test results including workpaper review for accuracy; summarizing results into concise statements of risk for senior management review; summarizing clear recommendations for resolution of identified gaps, inadequate internal processes, systems or human errors, etc.

The candidate will also write final drafted results reports; respond and/or escalate risks as appropriate to senior management and will serve as a functional liaison between the Business Lines and Corporate.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead performance of QA (operational focus not software) tests, analyze evidence of transaction handling or control performance against defined requirements

  • Lead, support or perform process inquiries, walkthroughs and procedure review to develop/design QA Program test scripts

  • Validate populations of desired activity for accuracy and completeness. Selects test samples based on Operational Risk Management and QAS guidelines and internal program defined methodology (documenting rationale for adequate coverage)

  • Ensure follow-up to verify resolution of previously identified issues

  • Lead test result discussions with business management and risk partners related to identified findings/issues, criteria used to define expected results, root cause assessment, exposure assessment, and actions needed/recommended

  • Draft report for Senior QAS Management review and distribution to business partners

  • Prepare QA test work papers and readies for QAS Senior Management review

  • Other deliverables as assigned by management

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Five to seven years of experience in an applicable risk management environment

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Experience in Internal Audit, Public Accounting, Operational Risk Assessment/Management

  • Considerable knowledge of consumer lending guidelines, applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends

  • Comprehensive understanding of consumer lending product/services, Consumer and Business Banking operations, systems, and associated risks/controls

  • Ability to identify and clearly communicate issues, cause, exposure and recommendations

  • Intermediate/advanced level of presentation (verbal/written) and relationship building skills

  • Thorough knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies

  • Proven experience leading a team to achieve goals

  • Self-motivated, able to work in a group as well as independently

  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously

  • Proven adaptability to changing priorities

  • Must possess business acumen and credibility to help business line(s) proactively identify and address changing workforce needs

  • Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages, including Microsoft Office applications and word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations

  • Has or is willing to pursue applicable professional certifications (e.g., C.I.A., C.B.A., C.F.A., C.F.S.A., C.P.A, M.B.A., and/or J.D.)

  • Demonstrates strong technical knowledge, including but not limited to, mainframe collection systems; TeamMate

Job Purpose The QA Technical Auditor assists the Supervisor – Technical Audits in the operation and performance of the Technical Audit and CASS portions of the Continuing Analysis and Surveillance System (CASS), as assigned by the Manager – Quality Assurance. The Technical Auditor will assist the Supervisor – Technical Audits in ensuring the CASS is implemented, pro-active, adapts to regulatory and company changes, and meets the internal and external requirements of monitoring the performance and effectiveness of the Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program (CAMP). Additional responsibilities include support of the Ground De-Ice / Anti-Ice and Fuel surveillance programs, and Safety Management System (SMS) compliance. Job Qualifications: * A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Science, Math or aviation related discipline or 1-4 years of aviation experience in the area of Quality Assurance, Quality Control or Maintenance * US FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate - Preferred. * Strong skills with Microsoft Excel (including Charts), Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint and a working knowledge of Microsoft Access. * Strong problem solving and analytical skills. * Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to professionally represent Compass Airlines with internal and external entities. * Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to write, present and defend technical reports. Familiar with ATA coding for aircraft systems, subsystems, and components. * Knowledge and understanding of the Coordinating Agency for Supplier Evaluation (C.A.S.E.) program (D090 Ops Spec). * Experience working under 14 CFR 5 SMS (Safety Management System) compliant systems and processes (or FAA SMS Training). * An understanding of aircraft part purchasing, warranty and repair processes, and awareness of the advantages and challenges of parts / repair pooling programs. * American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certifications (CQM/OE, CQA, CQE, CQPA, etc.) Job Specifics The QA Technical Auditor will, as part of their main duties: * Conduct on-site audits (technical evaluations by checklist to specific standards) of internal and external maintenance, inspection, parts, operations, ground and ramp service organizations / vendors (including fuel and de-ice vendors) to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Compass Airlines' internal processes and procedures. * Generate detailed Audit Reports (Corrective Action / Preventive Action requests – CAPA's) identifying deficient areas and documenting objective evidence of the discrepancy. * Ensure audit responses are timely, address the deficiency, identify the root cause, and provide a corrective action plan that will prevent the finding from re-occurring. * Conduct follow-up and compliance audits to ensure process improvement and corrective action / preventive action implementation and effectiveness. * Assists in maintaining and updating the Compass Approved Vendor List. * Maintain a working knowledge of company processes and procedures from General Maintenance Manual, Time Limit Manual, CASS Manual, and other company manuals. * Maintain a working knowledge of current regulatory and industry topics as well as standard practice trends used in Aircraft Maintenance, Ramp Operations, Aircraft Servicing and Safety. * Maintain a working knowledge on required traceability documentation for parts (and tooling) used in the maintenance of Compass Airlines aircraft. * Perform assignments and projects required of the Compass Airlines CASS. Document and perform to completion projects and activities of the Quality Assurance Tech Audit Group, as detailed in the CASS manual and the Quality Assurance Project Listing. * Assist the department in the achievement of corporate and departmental goals and improve the Compass Airlines overall maintenance product. Physical Demands * Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. * Requires being on your feet for long periods. Work Environment * Exposure to outdoor environment, high noise levels – line / ramp operations (hearing protection provided), dirt and dust (eye protection provided – respirator use not required in normal duties), cold and wet environment – observing winter operations / ground de-icing (safety / visibility personal protective equipment provided). * Position is office based but requires frequent visits to conduct audits and observe vendors, parts warehouses, line maintenance, and aircraft in a flight line environment or in a heavy maintenance / repair environment. * The ability to travel domestically (up to approximately 60% of the work month) and occasionally internationally – usually). Travel Requirements * Travel requirements include Audits, Meetings, Conferences and Training. (35 – 60%).
