Summary

Under the direction of the Administrative Director, Cardiovascular Services, the Medical Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab and the Cath Lab Nurse Manager, the Cath Lab RN will perform duties necessary to care for patients, ages 18 years and up, undergoing cardiac catheterization procedures at a technical and professional nursing level. The RN will provide pre, intra and post procedural care.

Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment. Operates diagnostic imaging equipment and aids the Physician to produce contrast enhanced radiographs of heart and cardiovascular system (angiograms) during cardiac catheterization and electro physiology procedures and assists with the implanting of pacemaker and internal defibrillator devices.

Education

Graduate from a state accredited school of Nursing. Bachelor's in Nursing preferred.

Certification, Registration & Licensure

New Hampshire RN licensure and American Heart Association Health Care Provider BLS required.

Experience

One year cardiovascular experience preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to bloodborne pathogens, bodily fluids, and radiation. The employee is frequently exposed to airborne contaminants, electrical hazards - shock, moving mechanical parts, slippery surfaces, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to airborne pathogens, and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
