Job Description: Central Carolina Hospital


Provides direct and indirect patient care with the Cath Lab team in order to best meet the needs of the patient. Communicates effectively with all members of the health care team as appropriate about changes in the patient's condition or response to treatment. Basic PC skills. Able to work on smoke-free campus. Able to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs duties as assigned and requested.

  • Adequately able to determine heart rhythms and intervention needed, and able to communicate with the physician and other team members about interventions needed.

  • Adequately assesses and reassesses the situation and communicate changes with the healthcare team if anything changes.

  • Performs patient care and communicates effectively with patients of all ages and specific needs.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of Cath Lab procedures and able to work effectively as a team member.

  • Assists physicians with procedures and performs services requiring

  • technical and manual skills.

  • Performs treatments and provides services to the level of licensure.

  • Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes

  • patient safety and reduces the likelihood of errors.

  • Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly.

  • Educates patient and family on disease process.

Job Requirements


High school diploma or equivalent is required

Associate's degree Preferred

Required Certification:

ARRT certification is required

American Heart Association BLS is required

RCIS certification is preferred

2 year of experience in a health care setting ispreferred

Responsible for staffing patient care areas, coordinating patient admissions, managing flow of patients throughout the hospital and general supervision of hospital. Maintains own professional growth and development in nursing leadership and required licensure. Communicates important information to the CNO and other Administrative Team members as needed. Essential Functions: * Develops, implements and manages hospital/nursing policies, procedures and standards of care. * Rounds on all patient care units to evaluate condition of patients, staffing needs and to provide support to caregivers. * Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors. * Administers the effective distribution and utilization of personnel employed during the respective shift. * Uses good judgment in ensuring adherence to established hospital procedures and policies. * Actively engaged with committees and task forces as needed. * Participates and assists in the planning and providing of in-service education programs within the hospital or other meetings, seminars or institutes conducted outside the hospital. * Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Evaluates and documents performance of employees as indicated and communicates this information to the Nursing Director. * Assumes the duties as outlined in the Emergency Preparedness Manual. * Follows Pharmacy protocols for obtaining drugs when the Pharmacist is unavailable. * Actively engages in patient safety, quality and performance improvement activities. * Completes annual education requirements.
