Overview

The Catering Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Catering Manager with catering activity and will assist the Food & Beverage management team. The Catering Supervisor will actively supervise, coach, direct, train and mentor employees in meeting company quality standards, and will promote a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment. The Catering Supervisor enforces all personnel and operating policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will be hospitality driven and well versed in working as a team in a fast-paced environment.

This role will pay a salary of $15.00 to $17.00.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assisting the Catering Manager in catering operations, all suite service, and private events.

  • Assist in the management of catered events from set-up to tear down, including handling communication with hourly staff and culinary staff. Responsible for guest interaction under the advisement of the catering manager.

  • Adhere to state, federal and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.

  • Detect and act upon guest inebriation as trained, escalating to management or security when needed.

  • Ensures staff are briefed on event requirements and assigned to a specific area prior to events under the direction of the catering manager.

  • Enforces all policies and procedures as they relate to guest satisfaction, quality standards, uniform policy, payment processing, operating procedures, and quality presentation.

  • Assists in closing and balancing of payments, as necessary.

  • Provide general office and clerical support: copying, filing, correspondence, telephone inquiries.

  • Relay any accounting, HR, employee relations, safety, policy or procedural concerns, and any situation that may result in disciplinary action, to the Catering Manager in a timely and responsible manner.

Qualifications

  • At least 1-2 years' experience working in a supervisory capacity in a food & beverage environment.

  • Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, management staff, vendors and guests in a clear, professional and respectful manner.

  • Ability to speak, read and write in English.

  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.

  • Must possess or be willing to obtain valid food handling certificate and TABC certificate.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and long hours.

  • Ability to accurately handle register and revenue collections through POS system is required.
