Becoming a Catering Student Ambassador for Miami University Catering offers both the ultimate in scheduling flexibility, as well as opportunities to interact with guests such as the Crawfords, the Board of Trustees and many Alumni!

Our events vary in time, day, size and structure so servers are able to accept shifts that work in their varied schedules. Scheduling is completed on a weekly basis and is event driven, providing student staff flexibility in their work schedule.

Responsibilities

  • event clean-up.

  • Servers interact closely with guests, representing Miami University Catering and Miami University. We hold high standards for our servers; so we are looking for a high-level of professionalism and responsibility.

  • Shifts of varying lengths are available per event.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications to Apply:

  • Must be a registered Miami University student with 6 or more registered credit hours.

  • Must be able to follow detailed instructions and retain information

  • Ability to stand for a minimum of 4 hours

  • Ability to list, pull, grab or reach items weighing up to 30 lbs

Requirements once Hired:

  • Completion of ServSafe Level 1 exam

  • Completion of the Miami University Student Confidentiality Agreement

  • Completion of the Miami University FERPA form (reference requests)

  • Completion of any other mandated departmental training

Below are the positions and the available hours in each area. Cooks Assistant - Assist the cook's staff with recipe production and hot food preparation. Provide support in the plating of meals for catered events at Shriver Center, Marcum Conference Center and Armstrong Student Center. Perform other duties as assigned. Shifts available daily at the following times: * 7am - 10am * 10am - 1pm * 1pm - 4pm * 4pm - 8pm Food Service Assistant - Assist the food service staff with daily production and preparation of fruit, vegetables, salads, sandwiches, deli trays, recipes, and continental breakfast preparation for catered events at Shriver Center, Marcum Conference Center and Armstrong Student Center. Shifts available daily at the following times: * 7am-10am * 10am-1pm * 5am-8am * 8am-11am Building Services Assistant - Operate, maintain and upkeep dish and pan washing facilities.
