Position Title: Catering Manager
Department: Impact Catering
Reports To: Catering & Sales Senior Manager
Supervises: Catering Staff Members
Job Type: Full-Time, Salary
Pay Range: $48,000-$60,000/annually (dependent upon experience)
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of an event including setup and teardown.
- Assist in setting up banquet functions including, but not limited to, linens, dishes, glassware, and silverware to company standards.
- Supervise catering staff in absence of Catering Sales Manager.
- Serve alcoholic drinks to guests following standard recipes and policies and procedures.
- Check guest IDs to verify minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcoholic beverages.
- Recognize guests that are visibly intoxicated and take action to cut off alcohol service to such individuals.
- Maintain sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas utilizing proper sanitation and safety procedures and techniques.
- Assure the location equipment is operable and clean prior to start of event.
- Assist other food and beverage departments as needed.
- Supervise and assist with weekly and monthly inventories.
- Assist Catering & Sales Senior Manager in the office as necessary.
- Ensure all packs for catering are complete and delivered to the proper location on time.
- Assist management team with projects including training, inventory, and special events.
- Will need to be able to work nights and weekends and be able to assist with all closing duties for the catering department and if needed other food and beverage departments.
- Other duties as assigned.
Additional Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Prior experience in a management or supervisory role is preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar position, such as fine dining/banquet events, hospitality or catering, is required. Outside catering experience preferred.
- Valid liquor license/alcohol service (ABLE) permit and food handling certificate as required by state and federal regulations. ServSafe certification preferred.
- Must be an experienced leader focused on people and quality standards with the ability to make sound business/operations decisions quickly and under pressure (i.e., employee placement, staffing adjustments, and/or responding to technical, product or equipment challenges during an event).
- Availability to work event-based hours, to include evenings, weekends and holidays, is required.
- Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages) as they relate to POS/Micros cash/credit transactions, cash reconciliation and product inventory.
- Solid working knowledge of computer applications: Microsoft Office, POS systems, timekeeping systems.

- Possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Speak, read and write in English.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Extended hours, nights and weekends may be required during peak periods.
- Frequent or continual movement from place to place with normal physical mobility, covering long distances with ease, managing assigned tasks throughout various indoor and outdoor locations within and around the property and in potentially inclement/severe weather conditions.
- Regularly lift, carry and put away items weighing up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift and carry heavier items and/or assist others in lifting heavier objects, as job demands.
- Walk and/or stand for extended periods in addition to other prolonged physical exertions including seeing, hearing, reaching, grasping, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, crouching, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing and working in awkward positions and tight areas may be required.
- Possible job hazards include, but are not limited to slips, trips, falls, burns, cuts and strains.
