VIEW JOBS 9/14/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-12-13T00:00 Description of Work THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN WILSON COUNTY The recruitment range for this position is $31,200 to $35,880. Hiring salary will be based on relevant qualifications, internal equity, and budgetary considerations pertinent to the advertised position. Serve as an intake coordinator in processing of all new probation cases; involves interviewing offenders and collecting personal and family social information necessary to complete risk and needs assessments and use in offender case management and supervision and collection of data for entry into computer systems. Work assignments may include providing technical support to staff within the state court through acceptance, examination and processing of legal documents and providing pre-sentence, pre-parole, post release investigations. Perform a variety of administrative tasks including but not limited to preparing documents and tracking status of cases. Involves significant contact with members and officials of the judicial system, community agencies, victims and offenders, serving as the agency's representative in court, community and in maintaining public awareness of the program. Position is usually located in or near the courthouse. Monitor for compliance sentenced offenders performing community service, including placement of both unsupervised and supervised offenders at an agency to perform work hours and may monitor a low-risk-low needs offender caseload. The Judicial Services Coordinator should have the ability to exhibit a working knowledge of local and regional community resources to address the placement of monitored offenders. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies Applications should be completed thoroughly to include all knowledge, skills and abilities. Listed below are the knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) associated with the position. These KSA's along with the minimum education and experience listed are required in order to be deemed eligible for the position; therefore, you must provide supporting information within the body of your application to demonstrate your possession of each KSA listed. Qualified applicants must possess, and application must clearly reflect work experience that demonstrates the following: Management prefers proficiency with a variety of software applications in order to perform data entry and research regarding offenders. Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with the Judiciary, offenders and the general public. Must behave in a professional manner at all times as they hold a highly visible position within Community Corrections. Position is frequently in court and will associate with judges, lawyers, District Attorneys, Clerk of Court, law enforcement, etc. Must possess exceptional time management and organizational skills and must be able to work under stressful situations. Must work as a member of a team in a variety of activities to include court intake. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Correctional Services, Psychology, Social Work or other related human services field from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Associate's degree in Criminal Justice, Correctional Services, Psychology, Social Work or other related human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in the court system, paralegal work, or other directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of experience in the court system, paralegal work, or other directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
