Citrus & Beer are main categories in the Hydration & Refreshment platform. You will translate our needs into an in-novation strategy that results in projects built into a creative roadmap for their category. Manage their technical category team to meet milestones. As category sponsor, guide all innovation projects in their category towards commercialization.

Your Title: Category Technical Leader - Citrus & Beer

Your Location: Cincinnati, Ohio (preferred)

You will Report to: Head of Explore Taste

Main Responsibilities:

Project Execution:

• Translate needs into a technical strategy, resulting in projects built into an product roadmap for the Citrus & Beer categories.

• Guide all innovation projects in your category towards commercialization.

• Manage technical category team to meet milestones.

• Help plan technical projects and ensure agreement on business strategy and functional area targets.

• Review improvement roadmaps with regions to gain regional approval (IC).

Data Collection and Analysis:

• Monitor and evaluate technological advances in relevant disciplines.

• Review competitors, IP, and regulatory landscape to identify gaps, needs, and constraints.

• Introduce crucial explore packages into the IDDC process and ensure appropriate documentation is in place.

Technical Strategy Development:

• Shape the technical strategy for the Citrus & Beer categories.

• Provide input to S&T Functional Heads and the Flavors Patent Committee.

• Ensure landscapes and balanced technology roadmaps for the defined technical category.

Innovation and Technology Integration:

• Identify external partners and incorporate new external technologies into the innovation portfolio.

• Coordinate validation with regional champions of new technologies at the appropriate stage.

Prioritization and Management:

• Ensure appropriate use of available resources.

• Monitor progress of projects within the IDDC for the technical category development portfolio.

• Ensure collaboration with diverse teams inside and outside S&T.

Important Contact and Resource Allocation:

• Serve as the main contact person for us regarding any technical aspects related to the Citrus & Beer categories.

• Ensure resource allocation across projects, coordinating with functional heads.

Your Professional Profile Includes:

• University degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or Biology.

• University degree + 10 years of job training, MS + 7 years of training, or PhD + 5 years of job training.

• Experience leading scientists to develop solutions to a variety of S&T challenges.

• Knowledge of the flavor and food business, how scientific and technical areas influence the business.

• Ability to understand several scientific disciplines and determine their benefits to the flavor and food industry.

• Experience working in a multicultural matrix environment and building networks across departments and geog-raphy.

• Structured and focused approach with the ability to simplify complex issues.
