This job opportunity closely aligns with three of these key strategic pillars, which is driving Strengthening & Accelerating our Core Business, Creating a Future- Ready Organization and Exploring New Opportunities..  In order to accelerate growth with existing and new categories in highly competitive retailers, this role is a critical enabler of providing best in class category leadership insights and selling stories to support sales team in unlocking new distribution/growth strategies in existing and new categories.

What are the Key Deliverables in this role ?

Financial Outcomes

  • Deliver Profitable Sales Growth: lead the identification, development, and socialization of actionable category, consumer, and marketplace insights in support of achieving sales objectives, volume growth, market share growth and distribution expansion.
  • Marketplace Leadership: leverage data and insights to understand and share sales trends/opportunities and understands the company's position in the market and its strengths and weaknesses compared to competitors, Conducts market analysis to understand the competitive landscape, analyzing variety of data sources and reports in order to provide actionable insights

Customer Service

  • Customer Centricity:   act as retailer category expert and thought leader by providing best in class category and shopper insights and actionable go-to-market recommendations that enable category and Tata growth
  • Retailer Relationship : Establish strong trusted relationship with retailers and develop presentations and present to the buyer and key stakeholders (e.g., business reviews, line reviews, product/segment deep dives, shopper insights, etc.)

Internal Processes

  • Cross Functional Collaboration: clearly communicate actionable insights/trends to internal stakeholders in order to influence short and long term planning
  • Best in Class Reporting:  Generate weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reporting to provide insights, identify opportunities and deliver solutions that drive profitable category growth- shared with key internal stakeholders

Innovation and Learning

  • New Category Expansion: partner with marketing and sales providing actionable insights within new category/whitespace opportunities
  • Organizational Category Elevation:  partner with broader sales and marketing team to elevate category acumen cross functionally

Requirements

What are the Critical success factors for the Role ?

  • Bachelor’s degree Required.
  • Location:commutable distance to Woodcliff Lake, NJ
  • 5+ years’ successful CPG experience in category management or sales with leading consumer goods company
  • Exceptional Category Acumen and demonstrated knowledge of category management philosophies, including skilled in syndicated/POS data sources ( Nielsen, Luminate, IRI, 8451, etc) and ability to create clear and compelling stories
  • Advanced analytical skills and computer software proficiency (e.g., Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Financial and Trade management understanding -pricing/promo strategies in highly dynamic categories
  • Strong business acumen and attention to detail
