Category Manager, MRO (3673)

The Category Manager is responsible for leading all sourcing activities related to corporate wide supplier spend in assigned spend category. The incumbent will, in partnership with the stakeholders, identify cost benefit opportunities for supply of goods and services. The incumbent will manage a team of procurement specialists and sourcing managers and personally manage supplier bid processes and negotiate agreements with new or existing suppliers that have an impact on our ability to meet or exceed corporate spend reduction goals as well as supplier service levels. The incumbent will lead and manage best practices initiatives including but not limited to development of catalog and no touch purchasing processes to drive to world class MRO purchasing practices and processes.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Establish and/or maintain positive, collaborative relationships stakeholders, including but not limited to the Directors reporting to the respective C level executives
Understand industry trends and apply to procurement strategies
Establish and manage a set of suppliers and related agreements that allow business department and procurement objectives and goals to be met for procured goods and services
Manage the development of and day to day operations of a team of 2-3 category assigned specialists and/or sourcing managers
Utilize benchmarking, key performance indicators (KPI's), and other available data analytics to meet or exceed departmental goals and objectives
Communicate consistently and efficiently with other peer group Category Managers (and equivalent), director, category stakeholders and vice president level executives
Document/track benefits associated with category sourcing and contracting
