The Category Manager I of StrategicSourcing drives competitive advantage and value creation for sourcinginitiatives they manage in the Loss Prevention, Travel, Events and Cafcategories. The Category Manager I will own planning, implementation, andexecution of sourcing strategy for specific categories. The Category Manager I willbe responsible for developing effective relationships with business partnersinternally and externally at various levels.
Engages and establishespartnerships across functions to collaborate, influence, and execute sourcingstrategy
Facilitates andparticipates in meetings with Business Partners across functions and at times,the Brands
Builds effectiverelationships with external suppliers to drive and execute sourcing strategy
Manage and executesourcing strategies leveraging Gap Inc's scale
Manage sourcingprojects: partners with manager to develop strategy, creates implementationplan and executes to achieve results
Demonstratesadaptability to manage the changing business needs as they arise
May participate in orlead Category Team initiatives, and cross-functional teams related to tools,technology, culture, people and process
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage and executesourcing strategies for specific categories through technical/functional knowledge,in support of the business' short-term and long-term plans. Understands andleverages key strategic sourcing functions (supplier selection, marketintelligence, business partner management, contract management, negotiations,SRM, etc.)
Build and strengthen businesspartner relationships:successfully partner across functions and levels with internal stakeholders,external suppliers, agencies and colleagues to achieve results
External Focus: Develop categoryknowledge and regularly leverage industry experts, associations, peers andstakeholders to identify and benchmark best practices
Achieve definedcategory performance targets; hold Business Partners and vendorsaccountable for strategy implementation and service level. Implement coursecorrections and mitigation strategies as needed
Leverage influencingskills toalign objectives and targets with stakeholders
Business Acumen: Experience or categoryknowledge in the following areas (ie. Loss Prevention, Travel, Events, Caf).Retail knowledge also a plus
Learning Agility: Ability to learn andquickly develop subject matter expertise
Sourcing Capability: Manage, plan, andexecute sourcing strategy to drive short and long-term results by leveragingmarket knowledge and collaboration and influencing with stakeholders
Drive for Results: Demonstrated ability to work effectively inan ambiguous environment to achieve high levels of performance and deliversustainable results to the team.
Change Leadership: Exposure to leading without authority toinfluence others and drive decision-making
Experience: 4 + years professionalexperience in management consulting, strategic sourcing, or supply chain
Education: Advanced degreepreferred
