The Category Manager: Global Transportation & Travel drives competitive advantage and value creation for Wright Medical. They will own planning, implementation, and execution of category strategy for Global Parcel, which totals more than $29M in spend, as well as the execution of category strategies for Global Travel, which totals more than $15M in spend. The Category Manager: Global Transportation & Travel will be responsible for developing effective business partner relationships with the Transportation Team, Carriers, Travel Agencies, Travel Managers, Travelers, and Executive Leadership at all levels. Responsible for leading, developing, planning, implementing, analyzing, and executing Global Category sourcing and purchasing initiatives. Essential Job Functions:
Manage and execute sourcing strategies through strong technical/functional Parcel and Travel knowledge, in support of the business short-term and long-term plans. Has deep understanding of key strategic sourcing functions (supplier selection, marketing intelligence, business partner management, contract management, negotiations, SRM, etc.)
Successfully partner across functions and levels with the Transportation Team, Carriers, Agencies and Colleagues to drive results and influence change
Develop deep category knowledge and regularly leverage industry experts, associations, peers and stakeholders to identify and benchmark best practices
Engages and establishes business partnerships with leadership to drive sourcing strategy
Leads and participates in meetings as needed with business partners to ensure goal attainment
Builds effective strategic relationships with external vendors to drive and execute category strategy
Manage and execute sourcing strategies based on business requirements
