  • Authorized Manufacturing Centers for it's New Berlin, Wisconsin location. You will be focusing to ensure seamless co-operation and execution of ABB customers' orders delegated to select authorized manufacturing suppliers. Be the main responsible person to oversee the orders and lead discussions related to specific orders and general KPIs. Develop, plan and implement procurement strategy focused on optimizing costs, quality, delivery, and reliability of suppliers that function as ABB Authorized Manufacturing. Ensure execution in accordance with all local business unit, global business unit, regional, divisional, and group function instructions and procedures.

Tasks:

Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Strategy:

Leveraging the Continuous Improvement Process Sourcing (CIPS) process, implements effective sourcing strategies in line with business strategy ensuring that the supply base/suppliers have the capability and capacity to meet current and future business requirements. Ensures all relevant parties understand strategies and execute processes accordingly. Designs and implements cost-out programs and/or processes to reach financial targets.

  • Procurement:

Manages planning and tracking of procurement activities, cost budgets, emerging country spending and savings forecasts. Minimizes risk regarding quality and financial exposure by buying in accordance with quality and commercial procedures and in accordance with Company guidelines.

  • Negotiation:

Negotiates agreements with main suppliers, and periodically renews price lists, terms and conditions.

  • Contracts:

Adapts corporate contractual framework to the local business needs. Recommends frame agreements to management, and executes upon approval. Provides ongoing oversight and contract management with suppliers.

  • Agreements:

Ensures identification, investigation, and selection of appropriate suppliers (focusing on quality, delivery, cost and sustainability) in accordance with Company policies. Defines and establishes local standard agreements with all major suppliers. Provides and maintains standard terms in purchase contracts/terms and conditions in line with Company directives and guidelines.

  • Business Continuity:

Applies and implements SCM standards, tools, and processes focused on business continuity for the assigned commodity or group of commodities.

  • Cooperation

As agreed with business, participate Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Witness tests. as supplier quality representative.

Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum five (5) years of experience in Supplier Quality or project management background.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or Business is preferred.

  • MBA or Master's is preferred.

  • Knowledge of larger project business execution and mechanical / electrical category knowledge is an asset.

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite; SAP knowledge is an asset.

  • Continuous Improvement focus, be demanding and do not accept average results, Lean Six Sigma knowledge preferred.

  • Able to decide when, what and how to solve the problem and then take the responsibility with prompt delivery.

  • Good negotiation skills in a multicultural global business environment.

  • Good understanding supply market, logistics, B2B.

  • Ability to influence others. Systematic and target oriented.

This position will be supporting our Drives and Controls Business Unit. .The Robotics and Motion division provides products, solutions and related services that increase industrial productivity and energy efficiency. Its motors, generators, drives and robotics provide power, motion and control for a wide range of automation applications. The leading position in wind generators and traction converters complements the industrial focus, leveraging joint technology, channels and operations platforms. 2019-02-04 Line Management / Project lead Tasks: The Production Manager must ensure efficient and cost-effective production results that meet order demand, specifications, quality, and planning targets through the coordination and management of plant equipment, personnel, and production processes (quantity, quality, budgeted costs and proper productivity level). Direct reports may include production engineer, production supervisor, assemblers, testers, and/or technicians. Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Budget Participates with finance and Manufacturing Unit Manager to prepare annual production budget, then oversees progress, and determines actions to cost issues as necessary in order to manage production operations within the budget and resources. 2. Operational performance Leads daily GEMBA meeting and communicates report out to organization. Collaborates with the Operational Excellence Analyst to identify, gather, and review metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the analysis and management of local production processes. Also monitors progress and leads production team's identification, analysis, and actions to correct deviations from targets. Has ownership and communication with the multifunctional operations team to ensure RCA (root cause analysis) and corrective action are taken to ensure optimal performance of the assembly process. Identifies and leverages support from other functions when appropriate. 3. Operations improvement Develops and leads the production team to executes plans to reduce non-value added costs while delivering products in desired market lead times, on time with high factory and supplier yields and decreasing product field failure rates. Ensures that 4Q Program (the standard ABB process improvement methodology) training and methods are implemented into and used in the production organization. Collaborates with Production Development Manager to integrate new and update technologies and lean manufacturing principles into production processes. 4. Customer Relations Participates in the integrated business planning process (IBP) to ensure the appropriate labor is available to meet medium and short term customer demands and expectations. May provide support to Sales during customer visits to explain capabilities of the manufacturing facilities. Supports the customer complaint resolution process (CCRP) as a resolution owner for production related issues that involve assembly methods, processes, and equipment. Primary contact and communication path to provide regular, timely updates on overall lead times and on time delivery statuses to customer service, product management, inside sales, regional sales manager, and segment and channel management. 5. Health, safety and environment (HSE) Ensures (with HSE Manager support) compliance with Group health, safety and environmental directives and that regulations are implemented, while monitoring and reporting progress and results. Assesses risks and safety hazards and implements plans to ensure people and equipment safety. 6. People leadership and development Ensures (with HR Manager support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Guides, motivates and develops direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies. Develops training program, including generation and maintenance of training course content, establishes training requirements, updates and monitors progress for all production staff using appropriate LMS (Learning Management System).
