Compensation includes a base salary of $106,700.00 - $177,900.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Job Description

The Category Management and Strategic Sourcing Senior Manager will be responsible for Direct Materials including network Infrastructure, CPE hardware, software, and solutions on behalf of Residential, Business, Wi-Fi, New Growth & Development, SmartCities, Cox2M (mobility solutions), and network telecom business operating units. This person will be a high energy contributor within the Supply Chain organization that provides solutions for multiple business units within Cox Communications, Inc Engineering/Technology teams. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Category Management and Strategic Sourcing, the Sr. Sourcing Manager will be accountable for the proper stewardship of projects involving the sourcing of network equipment and software tools and solutions on behalf of Cox Communications and affiliates. This role is directly responsible for supplier relationships, managing projects and delivering negotiated pricing and contracts for the categories. This role will also be involved in developing actionable projects and programs from comprehensive category and sourcing strategies resulting in favorable supplier terms, contracts and pricing that fulfill short and long-term objectives of the business as well as cost savings and value. The right candidate must enjoy working in a fast-paced competitive and changing environment, while effectively collaborating and communicating in alignment with the Cox culture. The role requires a great communicator, relationship-builder, and influencer among different stakeholder groups across the organization spanning multiple regional areas across the US.

Role Summary:

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for the development, delivery and execution of sourcing events and projects (RFx, direct negotiations, contract renewals, etc.) for assigned categories.

  • Develops effective and collaborative relationships with key business stakeholders and boundary partners.

  • Manages efforts in the negotiation of contracts, statements of work, and other agreements to ensure proper price, scope, terms, and delivery of service (including service level agreements) for CCI are achieved. May negotiate highly critical/visible contracts as needed or as assigned by their manager.

  • Works closely with other Supply Chain groups including Operations and Planning to develop and execute sourcing strategies and resolve problems.

  • Creates a category plan based on company goals, budget information, strategic direction from stakeholders, and spend analytics.

  • Drives execution of the category plan through pipeline management and prioritization.

  • Recommends and provides input for process improvements, and implement improvements, modifications, or adaptations to processes/project standards.

  • Incorporates enterprise diversity and sustainability initiatives into sourcing practices.

  • Provides input into workforce and staffing plans to ensure availability of employees and resources.

  • Manages and resolves escalations and issues related to sourcing events.

  • Champions change to drive alignment of sourcing, procurement, and supplier management strategies for the benefit of the company and the business.

  • Sets the example for doing the right thing through personal and professional behaviors of honesty, integrity, keeping commitments, and valuing others.

Skills and Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, Supply Chain and Operations Management, Engineering, Finance, or related field preferred. and 8 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 6years' experience; a Ph.D. and 3 years' experience in a related field; or 12 years' experience in a related field.

  • PMP, Six Sigma or Lean certification preferred.

  • Certification in Supply Chain Management (ISM), CPM or similar certification preferred.

Preferred:

  • MBA or Master's degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of sourcing/procurement experience

  • Proven experience executing the 7-step strategic sourcing process.

  • Experience negotiating contracts and price with suppliers and contractors in the subject matter area of the categories, with a knowledge of typical industry contract and pricing structures.

  • Experience with supply chain technologies such as Oracle P2P and eSourcing Suites.

  • Demonstrated results through individual and team-managed efforts of meeting department cost savings and value targets.

  • Prior knowledge/experience and or consulting experience in the category areas preferred.

Competencies/Skills:

  • Strong people management skills and the ability to manage several complex projects at a time through resources possessing varying skills sets.

  • Ability to identify opportunities and take necessary actions to continuously improve the department's value proposition for its stakeholders.

  • Strong analytics, reporting and financial acumen skills.

  • Knowledge of key strategic sourcing processes & best practices.

  • Ability to solve problems that are difficult and vague, requiring consideration of other job areas and a greater diversity of issues addressed.

  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with other functions, regions, and departments within CCI in alignment with Cox values and culture.

  • Ability to convince others with shared interests to adopt policies, practices, and procedures. May influence others that are skeptical or unwilling to adapt current approach.

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills; comfortable and credible with both internal stakeholders and external audiences at the executive level.

  • Exceptional planning and organizational skills.

  • Strong aptitude for customer service and stakeholder management.
